TWTW - the one spent as an ailing hermit

That's a seductive title, right? Friday I crawled home from work and was asleep on the couch by 6:35. I woke up at 9 am Saturday morning but aside from showering did nothing all day that required moving from said couch. I read an entire book and watched the first three episodes of this season's Billions, started another book, ate the curative wonton soup, and had MFD waiting on me. He punished me by putting Dune on and falling asleep. I fell asleep on the couch again Saturday night but made it upstairs and woke up feeling sort of better Sunday. I had the sheets changed and my nails painted (OPI Gelato on My Mind) before you could say winter illness fuck off for good. Aside from laundry and food prep I took it relatively easy on Sunday: I read another book and started season two of The Santa Clarita Diet blissfully alone in the house - MFD was out showing houses then on a shore house mission to do some shit for next weekend as we have some people staying there.
It's a good thing I rarely get sick because I am not a good sick person. I will drag myself forward like I did all last week until I shut down then I lack the willingness to rest that is required to get my energy back. I don't have patience and I don't like to rest when I have things to do and I can be an asshole about it.

Weekly food prep: scrambled eggs for breakfast; roast pork loin with roasted potatoes and steamed broccoli or cauliflower for lunches or dinners; cheeseburger skillet for lunches or dinners; taco meat (not pictured) for dinners and to freeze; sliced pickles/black olives/petite diced tomatoes for tacos and cheeseburger thing; sausage/egg/green chile breakfast burritos to freeze.

I had to run for the train this morning. Not really physically up for that. Thanks, Monday.

Tomorrow is Show Us Your Books with me & Jana! See you back here for that.

  2. Ugh when I get sick on a weekend I always feel as though I got gipped on a weekend but thankful I didn’t have to take time off.
Glad you are feeling a bit better.
I could only watch an episode or 2 of the Santa Clarita Diet before I started gagging lol.
I’m impressed food prep even after feeling sick! Wow

  3. What'd you think of the Santa Clarita Diet? I adore Timothy Olyphant but could not with Drew Barrymore.

Hope you start the week feeling better!

  12. So sorry you felt so awful, but glad you're feeling better. This sickness season has been the worst ever, at least in our home and I'm SO ready to say goodbye. Super impressed with how much food prep you accomplished while not feeling 100%!

  13. Oh man... with the exception of illness, your Saturday sounds perfectly introvertly amazing.
K started throwing up this morning and spiked a fever of 103. UGH. I really thought we made it through winter without either of us getting sick. DAMN IT. I'm praying that it's a 24 hr thing and I've been monitoring his temp. and filling him with water (which he's been keeping down- whew). All that to say, being sick SUCKS and I hope you're on the mend and I don't get K's illness. LOL

  14. I agree with Audrey Louise, with the exception of being ill, your Saturday sounds like my kind of Saturday (an introvert's dream). Hoping you are on the mend as well!

  15. I'm not a good sick person either. Thankfully, I rarely have to deal with it.
