Friday night was a poorly timed snow event that gridlocked most areas with non treated roads or sidewalks in the city, yet we pressed on and had a merry old time at my work Christmas party at McCormick & Schmick's. I'm the organizer so I'm always happy when it comes off well and people have a good time. It was a long, cold, snowy walk back to my car when we got off the train and we didn't get home until after 1.
Saturday
Bruce loves the snow so I spent most of the morning outside with him so he could tear ass around and eat it.
Lori came down and we had lunch with Pop at Red Robin, screamed with joy like five year olds when we had to pull over for Santa on the fire truck, and hit Ulta and Target before stopping at Lola's house (last photo courtesy of her photography). We had a laughing all the way day like we always do.
I made a quick dinner, then had a lay around with the dogs watching four episodes of Broadchurch as MFD was out volunteering and doing mummery most of Saturday night.
Sunday
Bruce was up from like 5 am on and I was on the couch for much of that time trying to pretend he wasn't so the morning started out slow. I read the dumpster fire news in my banned books socks because we are banning words now, hung with the dogs, did three loads of laundry, saw MFD on the NYT online, and reminded myself why I switched to gifts in reusable bags for people outside of the home.
I also re-upped my flowers with my preferred Christmas berry looking things.
Weekly food prep
Breakfast is kodiak waffles with syrup; snacks are hard boiled eggs and honey crisp apples; lunch is tuna with a side of carrots; dinner is leftover pasta with smoked sausage and broccoli and chili.
I plan my work holiday party as well and it's today - wishing it was at a steak house though! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteNash loves the snow too. If my parents' yard was fenced, or Nash wasn't such a psychopath, I'd let him off his leash to run around in it.
ReplyDeleteMy weekend was kind of low key. Christmas Party at my Pastor’s house Friday. That was kind of a stretch for me because it was a large party with people that I’m not close to. Saturday was a hair cut and laundry. Sunday was supervison of Christmas pageant practice and grocery shopping. You know what’s not in there? Christmas shopping yes I know I’m running out of time.
ReplyDeleteI binged the second season of Broadchurch on Saturday and figured I should wrap some presents since I was being otherwise unproductive. Now a week left to make sure the dogs don't eat or mark the boxes ...
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great weekend with family and friends! Love the berry floral arrangements!
ReplyDeleteAlways so nice to see party planning come to fruition in a great evening.
ReplyDeleteBruce is so cute in the snow and he is growing so fast! I really didn't think there was anything Trump could do that would astound me after all the crap he has already pulled. But those banned words - seriously? I feel like Handmaid's Tale where Fred says all this happened because we were too busy staring at our phones. Seriously, it's not right at all. That chili looks delicious. I've been craving some and need to put it on the menu for next month.
ReplyDeleteaww bruce is so adorable tearing all over the snow!!
ReplyDeleteLove the berries!!! So festive
ReplyDeleteUgh... All that snow gives me,anxiety
I’m glad the party went well and that you were able to make it there safely with all the snow!
ReplyDeleteThe picture of the three of them in a row on the couch. I swoon.
ReplyDeleteLook at MFD on the New York times! When I clicked the link I was like wait, I read this yesterday and didn't see him? Glad you pointed that out! Your office party sounds way fancier that my office party, glad it went well.
ReplyDeleteThe New York Times and Elizabeth Warren! MFD is becoming a resistance celebrity!
ReplyDeleteFuck the snow. I've had enough of it already.
Ugh snow... so pretty to look at but it throws a major wrench in plans. Glad your Christmasparty was fun and everything went well despite the weather <3
ReplyDeleteI am hopelessly behind on your blog posts!!! Trying to catch up. So proud of Mike for all he does - you too, of course! Ruby is NOT a fan of the snow!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear Bruce boy has gotten acclimated to the snow real quick! Lola won't even step on wet grass! Ugh! Your Friday night company party and Saturday fun with family sound like a fun weekend and I'm loving the winter wonderland photos! Emily @ Martinis & Bikinis
ReplyDeleteSnow is pretty but you'll never find it convenient.
ReplyDeleteI quit Broadchurch mid-season 2...I thought about starting again but I don't know if anything could match the first season.
I really like the berry decor. My house is decorated for Xmas, but it's also a wreck from moving still. Haha. I'm going to share some home pics on Thursday and carefully angle out the clutter and chaos. Hahaha.
ReplyDeleteI love Bruce in the snow!!
It seems like the winter got real rather quickly in the northeast, lol. Of course Bruce loves the snow... he couldn't be like the rest of the dogs and hibernate until it's gone. Mae probably gives him the stink eye the whole time.
ReplyDeleteI love the pics of Bruce in the snow! And your berry-like flowers. Our weekend was Christmassy, too. We went to two parties on Saturday and then baked cookies and treats all day Sunday to deliver Sunday night to friends, neighbors and family.
ReplyDeleteGlad the party was a success!
ReplyDeleteI bought Kodiak cakes a million years ago and never make them, not much of a story there you just reminded me with your post. Your dogs are super cute! And how awesome is that NYT pic, I love it! Are you going to print it and frame it? I think I would.
