Friday started with a woman getting on the shuttle bus at the train station with a lit cig, perfect blue buildings, a busy day at work, and a two hour ride to the shore. Stick a fork in me, I'm done. Lori and I walked the dogs and had Piccini for dinner.
Saturday 4:45 Bruce wakeup call then sunrise.
Lori and I hung out on the porch people watching with los perros while waiting for Melissa and Michelle, Amelia, Kimmy, Amanda, and Dawn stopped by on their way to the Block Party.
The Block Party was hot as fuck and crowded, but a really good day and better weather than last year. I got a cross body bag from the dog place, a dress from the tie dye man, a mug from Create n Burn, a mosaic sea glass tea light holder, and a mug for the shore house. You have to be beach hair don't care here because if you're like me your hair is always hideous as soon as you set foot in a shore town. There's nothing to be done.
We retired to the porch to enjoy the breeze and had a visit from Dawn, Sergio, and Gabriella. Then we tried Bruce Springsteen out on his new born in the USA collar and leash and he took to it like a pro. I was so pleased since the last time we attempted to teach a dog to walk on a leash that dog was Gus and he still hates us. Bruce loved the beach too which makes sense since he was born at the shore. See also: what I said above about beach hair.
Melissa left, Lori and I hung out with Bruce for a bit, then early to bed. Rain was in the forecast for Sunday so I figured no sunrise. Wrong.
Sunday morning was spent cleaning up after dogs, packing stuff up, and doing some minor shit around the house before taking the dogs to the beach. MFD was working so I was back in PA with them by 1:30 and Gus had his poop emoji toy in his mouth by 2. The rest of Sunday was eaten up by changing sheets, cleaning up after dogs, picking up around the house, putting shit away, decluttering little stupid stuff, doing five loads of laundry (none of which were clothes, wtf), and reading.
Weekly food prep: breakfast is PB and sliced banana on Dave's Killer bread toast; snacks are hard boiled eggs, apples, and bell peppers; lunch is tortellini soup again since I barely ate it last week; dinners are barbecued chicken thighs with pickled tomatoes and roasted red potatoes, homemade manwich from the freezer, and chicken enchiladas (chicken for the enchiladas was already made, shredded, and frozen). Shit is thawed but the bbq chicken and enchiladas still need to be made.
Sounds like some great purchased were made at the block party! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteLoved all your beautiful beach pictures!
ReplyDeleteBruce is so cute. Glad he did well on the leash. I've been eating that Dave's Killer Bread lately and loving it.
ReplyDeleteNice weekend ❣️ I need to get the Dave’s bread. Goddess speed for a happy and easy week. Love. Your. Momma.
ReplyDeleteToday was a brand new work holiday for us, so if several people hadn't told me, "Have a great long weekend!", I would be at work right now. It only took three people to say it before I looked it up on our intranet to confirm. Happy to have it, but why do we celebrate this? What a fun weekend. If the shore was 2 hours from me I would be there every weekend, no excuses. Have a great week!!
ReplyDeleteWorking with you too. Boo.
ReplyDeleteThose pictures of the ocean, gorgeous!
Um if it was hot and humid af for you, I feel better about wanting to die here. I mean I know I am in Florida, but it was unseasonably hot even for us!
ReplyDeleteUgh I'm working today too, boooo! But how thoughtful of Bruce to wake you up for the sunrise! All these holidays should be all for one or none at all. It's not fair that some people get days off and others don't. We work long and hard enough that more 3 day weekends are very much needed <3
ReplyDeleteI can't get over how cute Bruce is. Sounds like an awesome weekend and great scenery to top it off. Emily @ Martinis & Bikinis
ReplyDeleteThat Bruce...
ReplyDeleteYep... working it too - heck we get lucky to have off on Christmas.
ReplyDeleteOf COURSE you have to have that leash for Bruce. I swear, I've never seen such a content pup that looks like he's lived 20 years in that family already.
I always find that the prettiest sunrises and sunsets are when there's a little bit of cloud cover because that's when the colors are truly extraordinary! I love Bruce's collar too, so cute!
ReplyDeleteThat sunrise Sunday was just beautiful!!! I can't get enough of Bruce, he is too stinking cute.
ReplyDeleteThat sunrise pic - Love. Bruce is ridiculously cute!
ReplyDeleteFun shore weekend! And yay for Bruce being a beach-pup!
ReplyDeleteI, too, am working today. Double duty, actually... working from home and unpacking a box or two in between emails/invoices/etc. Lol
Off, thank goodness.
ReplyDeleteBeach hair is the best hair. It's the plus side to summer.
That puppy...he's wearing me down to Scott's constant requests for another dog.
That first picture of Bruce sleeping kills me lol.
ReplyDeleteI can't get enough puppy pictures. Is he still super awkward when he runs? That's my favorite puppy phase.
ReplyDeleteThat tortellini soup sounds so good, and I always love chicken enchiladas... can you tell I'm just waiting for lunch time?! Also, Bruce is seriously the sweetest and looks to be the perfect addition to your family :)
