Things I'm loving
1. If you are an iced tea drinker, may I suggest making it with this? We are consuming it like it's going out of style.
2. OOFOS - When you get older, sometimes you need to wear uglier shoes. If I'm just sitting around I'm all about my pretty, barely there flip flops. If I am walking, these are where it's at. They have incredible arch and heel support. Thanks to Laura for introducing me to them!
3. Dave's Killer Bread - I am typically not a fan of good for you bread. If you're not either, chances are you might like this.
4. Get outside. In the shade or with sunscreen on. But just get outside away from the computer screen, TV screen, and while you might use your phone to snap photos or post a pic on Instagram, put it down after doing that. Get outside and BE outside.
5. I recommend you never diminish yourself to make others feel more comfortable.
I'm linking up with Lauren & Bre for their Add it to my list linkup, which they're doing the last Tuesday of every month.
What have you been using or doing lately that I might want to add to my list?
Where do you find the Dave bread? Glad you are finding out now about the need for sturdy shoes. I wore flip flops for so many years. My feet were screaming ! I recommend cutting your flowers outside and bringing them in and having a home altar. Mine is in my kitchen with the Blessed Mother Seahell statue and peace sign and that cross you bought me from Sedona.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy this beautiful summer Tuesday.
Love. Your. Momma. 💖😇✨☮️🍀🍀❣️💖💖🦄
My FIL has been raving about that bread! I need to find that!
ReplyDeleteWe just started with the Dave's bread too. I also just bought "ugly" flip flops...I picked up Vionic's from DSW. They have great arch support as well.
ReplyDeleteI was looking for sandals for summer concerts and other times where closed shoes feel too stifling. I may need to look into this. I also caught you reference this bread in yesterday's post (creeping without commenting like a bad friend...) and I was wondering about it but hadn't googled. I'll have to see if it's available here because 70 cals plus health benefits is great. It's hard to spend time outside here in the summer except for around 8pm when the dog and I go for a walk. I took him out without headphones the other night just to spend time in my own head and it was lovely.
ReplyDeleteOh, and thanks for linking up! :)
DeleteI second the age and ugly shoes.... give me comfort over fashion any day.
ReplyDeleteI really need to try those sandals-- there is nothing worse than shoes that hurt your feet!
ReplyDeleteUgh, I need to latch on to #5. When our consultants did our staff retreat a couple weeks ago, they kicked me out of the room because they didn't feel like they were connecting with everyone. So... things got really awkward. The next day, when I met with them individually, they were basically telling me that i need to change the culture of our organization and that I need to stop stressing the sense of urgency in our work because it's not life and death. I've been struggling with this ever since - because 1) it is for many of the students we serve. It's their one shot to change their lives. 2) it's not their organization to change. But now I don't know how to interact with anyone because I don't know what was said, I didn't get address things in real time, and I'm flipping tired of feeling awkward around my own staff.
ReplyDeleteSorry for the rant. That just really resonated with me this morning.
Ugly comfy shoes are the jam!
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I read the first sentence as, "May I suggest you make out with this?" And I thought "Man, that must be some really AMAZING tea!"
ReplyDeleteWe love Moroccan Mint!
ReplyDeleteI'm on the lookout for comfy flip-flops...
Added the tea to my must try list! Love your toenail color.
ReplyDeleteI've been preaching about Oofos for YEARS! I love mine so much. You can get them off Amazon for about half the price of what I can find them for at Fleet Feet here, at least the black not shiny ones. There is a difference between the mens's and the women's flops (not just the bands, but the fit) and I waver between which one I like more. I go through about 1 pair a year, but flip flop season is about 9-10 months in Charleston. As a runner, these flip flops feel like clouds after a run and I have put many a mile on my Oofos as a tourist, walking around. I've tried other "support" flip flops and none of them are as comfortable as my Oofos. I keep trying to stray, but I just can't.
ReplyDeleteOo the tea sounds really nice, I'm going to look for that one!
ReplyDeleteI'm bad at being outside (in summer), not my jam. I'm inside but in my defense, I'm not on any sort of screens!
I am all about comfy shoes & soaking up the sun instead of the rays from a computer screen.
ReplyDeleteI love me some some flip-flops, so I need to check those out. And yes, my feet now need more support and comfort these days. I used to be able to wear cheap or super cute sandals with no issues but now - old lady feet suck. That tea sounds delicious. And #5 - YES!
ReplyDeleteLove #5!! Shout it from the roof tops!
ReplyDeleteI need to check out that tea, sounds so good! Ah yes the joys of old age, ugly shoes or pain. So fun. Yes to being outside, enjoyed my porch for a nice long spell yesterday in the shade, the best!
ReplyDeleteStephanie (NEP) introduced me to sanuk sandals and I am obsessssssssed. That tea sounds delicious! I don't drink a lot of ice tea but I LOVE iced mint tea.
ReplyDeleteAgreed with the getting outside! So needed. Everyone is so consumed with screens these days!
ReplyDeleteOutside time. NECESSARY. Today's weather is perfect - I took two conference calls outside. Love it.
ReplyDeleteI love Dave's Killer breads too! So good with avocado spread on top for breakfast.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Dave's Killer Bread. My cousin brought it to our beach vacation, and I fell head over heels for it. (dramatic, but true!) We had it every day with peanut butter and blackberry jam. *sigh* So good!

YASSSSSSSS to that quote. Love that.
ReplyDeleteI freaking love that bread so much. It's expensive, as far as bread goes, but I don't even care.
ReplyDeleteAlso, totally sending those shoes to my mom. I'll also likely be needing them soon! Maybe when my birks wear out ;-)
Adding the tea and bread to my grocery list!!!! I need some arch support in my flip flops too. Damnit.
ReplyDeleteAmen about good arch and heel support! I'm right there with ya, girl!
ReplyDeleteI saw Oofos at a race expo like a year and a half ago and have been thinking about them EVER SINCE. My trip to London made me put a pair in my Amazon cart, which is where they're sitting right now, awaiting my wallet theft situation to be resolved so I can buy them. Glad to see another positive review for them!
ReplyDeleteI love hot mint tea but I've never thought about making iced tea with it! Lately I've been switching between Raspberry & Lemon for ice tea. Those flip flops also sound amazing, I love flip flop weather but they have such terrible support.
ReplyDeleteI'm on my way to check out OOFOS right now! My damn old lady feet... We eat that exact kind of Dave's Killer Bread!
