Wake me up when it's all over

This title could apply to a million things right now because there's a litany of items I'd like to be free from when I wake up.

But alas, I'm talking about the ideal sleeping weather.

Perfect, windows open, blankets on, deliciously lovely sleeping weather has made it impossible to get out of bed in the morning this week. I prefer to sniff the sweet air, feel a little chill on my face, turn over, lay a cheek on a snoozing dog's head, close my eyes, and pretend I'm a Rockefeller who can get up when she pleases...don't we all. Instead I've made myself late, forgotten my lunch two out of three days, forgotten my refillable DD cup three out of three days, and not given a fuck about any of it because the extra four minutes in bed was worth it.

Good Wednesday tidings to you. And a happy happy birthday to our fabulous cousin Gail.

  3. If only my sinuses would cooperate... I've been leaving the windows open but I think it's screwing with my allergies. Ha.

  4. Perfect sleeping weather usually hits in September in PA, I remember.
Here it's Octoberish but it's pretty nice now too.

  6. Windows open, blankets on, forgetting lunches... check check check! Yesterday I forgot to set my alarm completely and had to get ready in 10 minutes. No bueno. Hope the rest of the week goes smoother for both of us!

  8. Amen. Except that the open windows are making my allergies go haywire. So it's a real conundrum. However, today, I was over a full hour later to work than usual (I don't really have a start time, just 'before my boss' who doesn't get here til 10) and it was glorious.

  9. This weather is life-changing. I love how it's warmer during the day (NO MORE HEAVY JACKETS) but cooler at night - I LOVE the windows cracked with the breeze coming in -- helps to live near the ocean!

  10. My favorite thing ever is exactly what you described, and unfortunately the garbage truck ruins it 2 mornings a week. Fresh air, a slight chill, and hearing the wind and birds chirping is my ideal sleeping environment <3

  12. I see a glaring omission here in Linda shutting down a stall in the public bathroom on the boardwalk, but hey.

  14. Ah this time of year, I wish I could bottle it. But also i feel so unmotivated to do anything but play outside, that would not be good year round!

  15. It is already too warm here to have the windows open. Our AC has been on for weeks actually. But I know that exact feeling of the chill in the air and it is magnificent!! You enjoy every last moment of it and have no worries about the forgotten lunches and refillable cups!

  16. I've been having lots of those mornings recently too. Or somehow the alarm just shuts itself off and oops I've overslept again.

  17. I. Hear. You. !! I've been doing much of the same this week. Heading into work a half hour later and let me tell you, it's so worth it. It's so hard to tear myself away from cute, sleeping, warm dogs.

Your post title had me immediately thinking of Wham! ;)

  18. Ideal sleeping conditions involve being cool, quiet, and dark. Very dark. Covers are a must but they can't be too heavy. I'm like the princess and the pea over here.
