Everyone else, I'm rooting for you, because why wouldn't I? Being an encourager is an important part of who I am. It doesn't take away from anything I want in life to hope others find what they want too.
There's enough sun for all of us to shine under. There's enough pain for all of us to feel the pinch of that, too, but we won't talk about the pain and I wouldn't wish for you to get your fair share (unless you are an asshole, see above). Bottom line, there's enough of all of it to go around.
Today I'm off of work so I've already glided into the weekend, and I'm hoping you have a swift slide into it as well. Given what's going on in this crazy world, do whatever you need to to find your peace today. If we all think about what we can personally do to help others find theirs and then actually do those things, we'll be golden.

This post is awesome. The world needs more encouragers because there are a lot of people who think there isn't enough sun for everyone. That makes me sad for them. This post makes a great Friday!

The older I get, the more I realize that there are some things that must have been ingrained in me, and ways I want to think that rise to the surface that I just don't like. Negativity and self-doubt are huge among them. When I talk to my parents now, I see it and I get it, but trying to undo the ways in which their outlooks affected me is hard. I love reminders like this. There's enough to go around and one person (or many!) doing well doesn't mean there's less opportunity for me.

ReplyDeleteI love this idea...that just because you're happy for someone doesn't mean that you have less happiness for yourself. I've met people in the past who this was true for--somehow by showing happiness or excitement for someone else, it diminished their own "shine". I dont have time for people like that anymore, and appreciate those who root for others. So thank you--and I'm rooting for you too!
