Today I'm supporting Lauren & Bre on their inaugural Add it to my list linkup, which they're doing the last Tuesday of every month. I'll try to participate monthly too, so for those of you who like this kind of thing like I do, you have that going for you.
Some things I think you should add to your list, if applicable - and the last one applies to all.
Drinkwell Platinum Pet Fountain - Once upon a time last week I had to get my dogs a pet fountain on the recommendation of the vet since Geege has crystals in his urine and may not be drinking enough. I stopped at the pet store and came out with the shitstain of a fountain on the left because it's what they had. It leaked all over my floor in great lakes of water for three days until I finally threw up my hands and ordered the one I wanted from Amazon in the first place. They are the same brand but a different design and the second is clearly superior.
PureGuardian 30 Hour Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier - To go along with the above, I figured maybe Geege was just plain old dried out like the rest of us. Both of my humidifiers crapped the bed in one week, so I had to order new ones. After reading more reviews than I'd read for anything else on the planet, I got one of these for our room and one for the living room. I'm happy with them even though they do not run for 30 hours as the name indicates.
Bai Bubbles in Gimbi Pink Grapefruit - I love this. A lot. I don't care if it's good or bad for you. Honestly, I don't really want to know either way. It gives me joy.
Sculpey Keepsake Pawprint Kit - So I shared the photo on the right on Instagram and some people instantly thought my dogs died since you can get these from the vet when they do die but then they read the caption and found out the worst case scenario did NOT happen. Like, if all three of my dogs died simultaneously...I'm not going to even get lost in that improbable tragedy. Anyway my dogs hated doing this but it was super easy and I wanted their pawprints from when they are alive. And now I have them. I first saw these on Carrie Gillaspie's Gift Guide for the Person Who Loves Dogs More than People. See? I added it to my list and here I am, loving it.
Having a place to get lost. In a book, in the aisles of HomeGoods, in a show or a movie, in a Museum, in the park, on a run, in a religious service, in painting a room, in creating a masterpiece, in photography, in a theater, on a dance floor, in a pool, in a gym, wherever it is for you - have a place where you can go to get out of your own head. Go there often.
Love the idea of this link up! That dog water fountain is really cute. Pink grapefruit is one of my favourite flavours of anything, so that drink looks delicious to me.
ReplyDeleteSomeone got us a kit like that for our baby...I have not yet attempted it. Hopefully it's as successful as your adorable results...between babies and dogs, I'm not sure which would be more difficult, haha.
ReplyDeleteHaving A Place to Get Lost is such a great way to describe the comfort/relaxation/peace and giving yourself a mental break.
ReplyDeleteI read a million reviews and ingredient on dog food a few weeks ago. UGH.
ReplyDeleteThose ornaments are a neat keepsake. I think we have ink paw prints of our dogs who have passed away... but like you said, they were made after the dogs were gone =/
WBM Himalayan Glow Hand Carved Natural Crystal Himalayan Salt Lamp... in every room of the house, including hallway and bathroom. These times require serious attempts to achieve peace!
ReplyDeleteI also bought that first fountain and it was horrid. Good to know their other option is better.
ReplyDeleteJust got to reading this. Very busy Instagram ing. Tweeting and retweeting and sending positive energy and love and peace. Anyway. I get lost in our Lola. She's a supreme joy in every way and I want a wonderful world for her. I get lost in Riley and Colin when I see them. They are older but just as full of love and joy. I want a wonderful world for them. I get lost in nurturing my other people, too. And I get lost in eating sweets. Jmj. God and Goddess speed to all and πππ☮☮☮✨✨✨π½π½π½πππand positive energy
ReplyDeleteLove. Your. Momma.
I really should invest in a doggie water bowl. It would save me a lot of refilling.
ReplyDeleteI will say, when I saw the doggie foot print things, it made me have to read really fast because I thought an horrible accident happened too. We have the prints from our dogs when they passed away.
Not gonna lie, I had the same initial reaction when I saw you post the paw print things. Glad the pups are OK, and what a cute idea!
ReplyDeleteHawkeye hates the water fountain. My old roommate had one for her cat and Hawkeye would avoid it at all costs. Ridiculous dog.
ReplyDeleteI want to do the paw print thing too, it's been on my list forever but I just keep putting it off.
I love Bai. My favorite is the Boliva Black Cherry. Love the paw print ornaments! I got a kit this year to make one with/for Scout!
ReplyDeleteWe got a humidifier earlier in the month so I totally feel you on reading like a million reviews. There's a pear flavor of the Bai that's really good!
ReplyDeleteI need to try the pop print thing, I tried my own and it didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped so maybe this one will be better! I will give a shot! I also like having a place to get lost in for me it's usually the movies which is exactly what I did last weekend!
ReplyDeleteyes to humidifiers. They really do help at night when you sleep, esp if you're sick.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like all my favorite bloggers are in on this blog hop!! Great post! <3 - http://www.domesticgeekgirl.com
ReplyDeleteI still need to order a humidifier. Sooner than later! I really wish I would have made one of those ornaments with Gracie's paw before she passed :( I love that you will have those forever. And YES to having a place to get lost! Books and HomeGoods are at the top of my list too!
ReplyDeleteI get lost in a good book and listening to books on Audible. I get lost in my son's newest hobby: puzzles. We can sit still and just randomly chat while concentrating on the puzzle and it's super relaxing. Love this post and it's a great reminder of appreciating the little things! Humidifiers and diffusers FTW.
ReplyDeleteSo our friend gave us one of those pawprint kits for Christmas forever ago, but we just haven't taken the time to do it with Dart yet. Now just seems like the perfect time.
ReplyDeleteGetting lost in a good book is always good for the soul. I've seen that water somewhere else this week--you have me intrigued!!
ReplyDeleteThat dog fountain looks awesome! Our dog, Sassy would probably love that!

I still remember trying to do the paw prints at home. I ended up with some sort of acceptable versions, and then Cajun ate them (tore apart, he didn't inject any) the next day :/ Not sure we're ready to put ourselves through that again!
ReplyDeleteOf course, I love the idea of using one of those pawprint kits.
ReplyDeleteGetting lost. I agree. I have to do it, even if it's only for 10-15 minutes wandering around a bookstore.
Barkley had crystals in his urine over the summer and he was on like 12 meds to get rid of them. I probably should get a fountain but I'd probably forget to fill that, too.
ReplyDeleteI love the paw prints and I wish I could get one of my cat, too, but she's an uncooperative asshole.
That paw print kit is adorable! I love those. I could never use it on my own dog - sigh. She'd go crazy. Ah well.
ReplyDeleteYay for a good doggy fountain and humidifier. My sister just got one of the latter and really likes it, but I don't know the brand.

The paw print kit is adorable. We actually received a paw ornament in the mail several years ago from our Vet when our cat passed away. It was unexpected but so sweet and sentimental.
ReplyDeleteI love that paw print kit idea! I got a $6 lens kit for my phone at Target on my lunch break today and I'm already a huge fan. It has three lenses and just something fun to mess around with!
ReplyDeleteLiving with radiator heat means I NEED a humidifier, but the one I bought a few years ago had to be tossed in the move... because someone (ahem, me) didn't let it fully dry before putting it away and it started growing things inside it. Pleasant. Anyway, been on the hunt for a new one but I get the worst analysis paralysis, so it's good to hear a recommendation from a real human person I know.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love the comment about a place to get lost. Typically mine is the yoga studio or wherever my running shoes take me, and it is a gift.
Target is my go to "get lost" place but today I was in Michael's and lost track of time so there might be that too lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued by Bai Bubbles now. I think I've seen them...in Target so I'm gonna grab a can next time.
yay for your arts and crafts with the pups!! yours turned out waaay better than mine! gatsby was such a shit head about it and thought i was doing some voodoo vet stuff to him. and lyla tried to eat it so there's that. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I forgot to do this linkup! I'm already failing as a blogger. All good recommendations! We have a water dish like that for our cats and they love it! Are your dogs used to it yet? The water stays cool and clean and our vet recommended it for all over health.

It's amazing that the same company can make two wildly different products. Don't they know what works? Also, funny that you mentioned Bai since they just had a pretty good Super Bowl commercial and I had never even noticed it until I read your post the other day. Thanks for talking about the linkup and joining in!
