Saturday Kim & Steve headed to the city and I did some shower favor assembling, laundry, food prep, etc. before heading to uh, the shore, where we were not supposed to be this weekend. My Dad and Carol were landlording for us, but MFD had a mum gig in Strathmere so I went along and had some food and a beer and caught up with my boss and his family who were on vacation there before heading to Maggie & Shawn's pool party to close out the night.
Sunday we were graced with MBD's presence in Langhorne, so Kim and I stopped over at Laura's mom's to see him. Isn't he the cutest? He's so cuddly and I love him so much.
Sunday afternoon was reserved for showering Baby O'Connor. Kim and I emerged in the exact same dress and black and gold shoes. Hilarious! At her bridal shower Kelly and I wore the exact same outfit. Kim's mom threw a lovely party at Christine's with great food. My heart is always fuller after an afternoon with my old guard ladies. Especially when it's in celebration of an awesome life event. Steve was a great shower sport even though he may knife me for this hat photo.
Weekly food prep: Breakfast - zucchini pie + fruit, lunch - grilled chicken thighs (marinating here) and veggies, dinners - quinoa enchilada casserole + pork tenderloin with roasted potatoes and veggies.
I also finished a book (Storm Front by John Sanford) and started another (Valley of the Moon by Melanie Gideon), and watched the first three episodes of Stranger Things and a few episodes of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I changed sheets, did unending loads of laundry, blah blah. MFD gave two dogs baths and it's up to me to corral Gus, the notorious bath hater.
August 1. Time, you slippery eel.
How was your weekend?

ReplyDeleteToo funny about the matching outfits. That MBD does look super sweet and cuddly. Love your nail color!
ReplyDeleteAll of the delicious food! Looks and sounds like a wonderful weekend! Too funny that you both showed up in the same outfit. I've done that with my coworker once and it was pretty hilarious.
ReplyDeleteYou slippery eel... That's so true! Where did July go? Hell! Where did June go?
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to check out Stranger Things. Someone else I know was talking about it.
My weekend was low and slow as I was recovering from a social hangover from being in Sin City last week.
All of that food looks amazing!!! I have a recipe for something similar to the quinoa enchilada casserole that I love to make for lunches. Your weekend was full of baby fun!
ReplyDeleteSo funny that you guys wore the same outfit. Great minds.
ReplyDeleteWeekends + fatassery are the best kind! Looks like a fabulous time with friends complete with baby snuggles <3
ReplyDeleteAW what a precious baby! You look wonderful holding him! :)
ReplyDeleteA good black classic dress is good for every occasion & for every single person :)
ReplyDeleteI NEED that pretzel tray in my life. That would be the perfect thing to take to my Bible study every time. I gotta search for one.
So funny that you guys wore the same thing! And that baby! So tiny.
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe that it is already August. It just seems a bit insane! Sounds like you had a great weekend. I need that slice of pizza in your picture...
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun weekend! Party are always fun (and maybe a little exhausting...)! Our two monsters could use a bath but that's usually my job. I'm slacking... ha.
ReplyDeleteFood, other people's babies, books and cake... some of my favorite things!
ReplyDeleteAll of that food looks so delicious, then again I feel like you always have good food pictures from the weekend! That's too funny that you and your friend showed up in the exact same outfit to the baby shower! I feel like that's a sign of a good friendship, especially since I used to do that with my friend too!
ReplyDeleteHow do you feel about Stranger Things? I couldn't get into it.
ReplyDeleteADORABLE cake (and adorable baby too!)...too funny about the dresses!
Mmm that pizza looks delicious and so cheesy. That's so funny that you two showed up in the same outfit! Great minds, eh?
ReplyDeleteKC and I watched all of stranger things in one day.. we aren't really binge watchers, so that's odd for us. i liked it, though i don't know if it is something i would have gotten into/watched on my own. Valley of the Moon is on my list! hilarious about the dresses/shoes, and that baby - so cute. i could watch a sleeping baby forever. well, like half an hour. haha. jk.
ReplyDeleteToo funny you showed up wearing the same exact outfit! The baby shower cake is beautiful. Nice way to cap off the weekend :-)
