I made my way over to Aerosoles on 17th & Walnut for a private shopping party Jill organized. Good deals and shoes that will not kill my old lady feet = solid night. We went to dinner at Devil's Alley after. Food was meh and the service was terrible - a half hour between when the first dish in a course came out and the last. I've been there for lunch about a year ago with a much better experience. It took me an hour and 40 minutes to get into work Friday and 21 minutes to get home. Traffic.
I was in Doylestown to have breakfast with my girl AEB by 8:30 Saturday morning. We met at The Hattery. We like it there. The lobby has a cool old suitcase wall.
I stopped to see my niece Lola Jean, who was six months old Saturday. She is cuddly and inquisitive and hilarious. I adore this child. I went to Target after and scored huge on chicken breasts. This is life excitement right now. I also got some totes for basement reorganization and sand toys, sidewalk chalk, and bubbles to leave for renters at the shore house.
I spent most of the afternoon laying down with a heating pad due to a bastard pinched nerve. When I got up, Mae decided the heating pad was hers. She could win every side eye contest.
Saturday night I met the Sisters Wexler for a belated birthday dinner at Three Monkeys. Fabulous food, wonderful friends, and a huge Villanova Win made for a good night. I was home and in bed before 11 but slept like buttholes because a humdinger of a storm ripped through and Geege and Mae were beside themselves.
Sunday afternoon we headed over to the Flyers Skate Zone to see our friend Jimmy Mac play on the NHS Blues against the Flyers Alumni for the Goals for Giving hockey fundraiser.
Weekly food prep: egg muffins with leftover Easter ham and sharp white cheddar for breakfasts. For the freezer: power breakfast muffins and breakfast burritos made with eggs, diced green chiles, sharp white cheddar, and ground sausage (made egg mix and sausage, assembly and freezing tonight). Sunday dinner: baked chicken, baked sweet potatoes, and sauteed baby bellas and shredded brussels sprouts. Lunches: baked chicken and steamed broccoli. Snacks: grapes, cantaloupe, snap peas. Lemons cut up for water. Killed it this weekend. Other dinners are baked salmon and steamed veggies.
Other weekend things:
-Five loads of laundry done and put away. Putting away laundry is one of my most hated hausfrauing items so it's worth noting. Usually I let it sit in the basket for a few days.
-A second trip to Target Sunday for the stuff I forgot Saturday...still forgot three items.
-Three bags of trash, one large picture, a chair, a rug, and a weight bench gone from the basement.
-Shades of Blue marathon

I saw a lot of my people this weekend, plus Michelle and Amelia Thursday night. It was a good one!
How was yours?
Love those pink loafers...they are adorable!! I finished the last episode of Shades of Blue on Saturday - loved it! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteI love Aerosoles too! Hooray for cute (cute-enough?) shoes for old lady feet!
ReplyDeleteLoaded and productive weekend! Waiting for Lola to arrive as I type this! Awesome on tossing stuff from the lower level. Continuing to thank the universe for no power loss or damage during the raging storms and the winds. A happy week to all!
ReplyDeleteLove. Your. Momma.
Love that suitcase wall. Cute pink loafers! I hate putting laundry away too. Have a great week, Steph.
ReplyDeleteI love love love that nail polish color! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love the OPI shade - such a pretty color! Pinched nerves are never fun - I am pretty sure Gigi would also steal the heating pad (she always steals anyone's spot when the get up so she can have the warm spot)
ReplyDeleteAll of your food pics have my tummy growling this morning. I hope your pinched nerve is feeling better--that totally sucks. LOVE the nail polish color tho!
ReplyDeleteNext time my husband and I are up in Philly I need to check out this brunch spot--it looks awesome!
A good weekend always includes a Target run! I saw your nails and am finally going to make myself paint my own today- motivation!!
ReplyDeleteI love the suitcase wall, I like old suitcases but never buy them because what do you do with cool old suitcases?
ReplyDeleteI never food prep but I pre-shopped all the meals for the week like I haven't in months since it was the slow season and our budget is very fluid then. I have a love/hate relationship with the busy season.
I really love that nail color! It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGoodness your pups sure are adorable!
I hate putting laundry away too. It's my least favorite thing to do.
I need to work on the putting the laundry AWAY part. I could wash and dry and fold and iron all the livelong day but I HATE putting it away.
ReplyDeleteIt never fails that I find myself drooling after reading your weekend wrap-up posts thanks to all the delicious food photos! I love that you're picking up bubbles and sand toys to leave for renters, such a thoughtful touch and one that I'm sure will be appreciated!
ReplyDeleteTHOSE SHOES!!!! I am loving the pink!... & the color of that nail polish!
ReplyDeleteOh man, a pinched nerve is THE WORST!!!! Hope you got some relief.
Thank you SO SO much for the surprise box! I loved it! I posted it on my Facebook page and have had many inquiries as to the products inside. You made my week as I lost my hospice foster dog on Sat. I used the keratin treatment gloves and socks. (I won't mention the inappropriate comments my husband made. His name is also Mike. Maybe that has something to do with it.) Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI love the nail polish color. I was just thinking to myself that I need to get some nail polish for Spring. :) And I love the pink shoes! I used to wear heels in an effort to be taller (it failed tremendously) but now that I wear flip-flops most days, my feet hate me when I force them into heels. And those food pics - are making me so hungry, especially the eggs benedict!
ReplyDeleteLOVE that nail polish color. Must buy in the great makeup refresh of 2016.
ReplyDeleteThat storm on Saturday was INSANE. Erica's BFF spent the night and she's scared of storms so that was fun, too.
You had some great food this weekend, and I love the decor of The Hattery with all of the suitcases! That's so cool! Way to go on actually putting away laundry! That's the one thing we always try to avoid for as long as possible.
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh the food looks amazing, i want to go to that three monkeys place. yum.
ReplyDeletei would be totally excited about a deal on chicken breasts, that is definitely something to be excited about! a pinched nerve, that's not good though :( the nail polish is super pretty, and i love the old suitcase wall at the breakfast place. fun!
Looks like a fantastic weekend, and so much good food to look forward to!! That OPI color is sooo pretty, too. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteMeg, Borrowed Heaven
The food at Three Monkeys looks DELICIOUS- omg! I want one of everything! :) Love the shoes you scored as well- cute and extra points for being comfy!
ReplyDeleteCute Aerosole shoes! Comfort is definitely key! And good job putting away that laundry :). It
ReplyDeleteSorry, the last "it" should be omitted.
DeleteI don't mind putting away laundry. I actually love seeing all my clothes hanging, etc. However, I do hate it because our closet is so small (it's well cleaned-out, it's just way tiny for 2 of us) and I have to jam things in there. So because of that, I hate it. Otherwise, I would enjoy the task!
ReplyDeleteYour weekend was so full!!! They always seem to be though so I'm not surprised. And hey, Mae is pretty smart for calling dibs on the heating pad. I'd side eye her if she didn't. My car got locked in a garage one random night for something like that and it was a nightmare. I had to drive all the way back there at 4:45 am before work to get it. Le sigh indeed!
My cats LOVE to steal my heating pad the minute I get up. I think pets spend 50% of their time waiting for us to go away so they can use our stuff.
ReplyDeleteWow you got a ton of things accomplished this weekend and still managed to go out and have fun with friends! Those shoes you scored so look very comfortable.
ReplyDeleteLove that you picked up bubbles for the renters! And loving your mani, such a beautiful color!
ReplyDeleteI love that polish color!!! So pretty! And all of your food looks so amazing. SO AMAZING! I am starving right now! I love that you are a thoughtful shore house owner and leaving items for the kids that may stay. That is awesome and will go noticed I am sure!
ReplyDeleteThat suitcase wall is so cool! And that side eye...so, so good.
ReplyDeleteYou did kill it on food prep.
ReplyDeleteAnd chicken breasts on sale is definitely excitement for hausfraus, right?
That pasta looks ridiculously good.
Looks like a good weekend indeed. How's your back doing, better?
ReplyDeleteLove that shade of nail polish!! And of course, the pictures of your dogs. Love that Mae stole your heating blanket. :)
I NEED those Aerosoles shoes. I've always been a shoe girl. The last five years of retail work has shown me that my old lady feet need some TLC. You have pictures of all this delicious food, and all I can focus on is that chocolate goodness of a dessert.
ReplyDeleteUM WOW. Amazing weekend progress. In awe of that meal prep alone! Seriously, I just opened up all the links! hehe Bummer about the pinched nerve! Ouch! I kind of love hockey... but we don't really have a lot of hockey here! : / We had a laid back weekend at home. Organizing, cleaning, reading, watching movies... :) XO - Alexandra
ReplyDeleteSimply Alexandra: My Favorite Things
I love Target but I always forget things as well....yet always walk out with more than planned. You really did kill it with meal prep and general adulting!
ReplyDeleteJealous of your Aerosoles private party, and love the colors of those loafers! So cool that you got goodies for your renters to play with. Looks like a weekend of good food and even better company!
ReplyDeleteBoth pairs of shoes you picked are cute--definitely hear you on wanting comfy ones.
