TWTW - the one with the verbs

Painted my nails and did a self-pedicure even though I hate doing that with the fire of a 10,000 suns. Wallet watch and all. Nails are Zoya Sia and toes are Zoya Bijou. I adore the Perfectly Posh Schwanky & Soft foot lotion and would not do any nails ever without Sally Hansen cuticle remover.
Enjoyed time with Lori, or as the dogs call her, Treat Lady.
Handled an asshole shopping cart...and a new fudge croissant donut from DD. I handled the second much better than the first, trust.
Attempted to make my own shaving cream. It did not come out anywhere close to the original photo. It came out looking like a sad turd burglar cousin.
Played Cards Against Humanity and caught up with our good friends Jill & Frank. Jill wrote a great makeup dupe guest blog post for me, look out for that tomorrow.
Stared at my dogs. And they stared at me. It's a thing we do. Did you see Steph's post on what to keep on hand for your pet, like first aid kit stuff? If not, check it out.
Prepared food for the week: egg muffins with ham and cheese for breakfast; fruit and veggies for snacks; oatmeal and poop soup for the dogs; honey soy chicken drumsticks for dinners to be served with broccoli. Other dinner - pasta with turkey meatballs and red sauce. Lunch is surprise soup out of the freezer. Like surprise! You didn't label this. You get what you get.
Saw my precious perfect niece and had Chinese food with her parents and my Dad & Carol

Dealt with a pipe leak in the basement...and by dealt I mean said oh fuck as I watched MFD rip the ceiling out in the utility room and then went upstairs thinking I'll move the rest of this shit tomorrow.

Watched some episodes of Luther.

Cleaned and organized my kitchen cabinets and the coat closet.

Napped for two hours Sunday, and was reminded why I never nap...I wake up cranky.

I got less accomplished than I wanted to this weekend, but read and relaxed more than I planned. Totally calling that a win.

How was yours?

  1. I like your tights in the picture with Dean B's book.

I like all the pug pics.

I can only imagine that you would be one helluva Cards Against Humanity player.

  4. I wake up cranky when I nap too. I'd rather be tired.
    How's the American Unhappiness book?
    Ugh to the leaky pipe.

  5. I LOLed so hard at your shaving cream, sorry I'm an asshole. Thanks for sharing my post :) How was Animal Dreams? I haven't read Barbara Kingsolver since high school. Poisonwood Bible was required for my AP English class, which is funny because I just looked it up and it was from 2002 and I graduated in 2003. Guess my teacher was on top of her game.

  6. You got so much done this weekend. And all I did was spend it doing nothing. Your dogs are so cute. I haven't read any Barbara Kingsolver till date. Her Poisonwood Bible has been sitting on my TBR shelf for years now. That shaving cream thing always happens to me. I have stopped doing some DIY's for this very reason :P.

  7. Sounds like it was a good weekend overall, minus stupid carts. But yay for chocolate anything to fix it! Love the color you picked for your mani!

  8. You do so much on the weekends! I wish I was that productive but I'm so not. haha I totally do not nap because I too wake up cranky. I thought it was just me who was like that.

  9. Great warm weekend! Lola is a dream come true. I am so lucky to see her every day during the week! My nails and feet need attention. Wishing everyone a happy week.
    Love. Your. Momma.

  10. That sounds like a fabulously relaxing weekend except for the leak thing.

I love to do my own pedi's, my feet are so ticklish it's hard to let someone else do them for me. I do try to let someone do it at least once to get the summer season started and then I just maintain from there.

  11. I did not get to read or relax really at all last weekend but this next one that is the plan. My stack of books is going up not down!

  12. That's about how I handle pipe disasters in my house too.
That shaving cream... oops... did you use it though or toss it?
Adding that cuticle remover to my list right now

  13. "sad turd burglar cousin" LOL. Did it work though? Any weekend including CAH is a win in my book. I don't care how old it is or who I play with, I will bust it out at any and all functions. Yay for a (mostly) relaxing weekend!

  14. I'll do my finger nails any and all day but I'm with you. I hate painting my toes. HATE IT. making your own shaving cream. hmm i don't use it enough, just regular old soap. I love cards against humanity. it's just the best!

  15. I hope surprise soup isn't poop soup, ha! Does the shaving cream at least work well?

  16. I haven't read nearly enough lately. Did you use a hand mixer for the shaving cream? I am glad I am not the only one who just stares at her dog. They are just too cute. I got a lot done this weekend but never enough too.

  17. I have been wanting Chinese food for days and we haven't gotten it yet and the fact that you did is making me jealous. Very jealous.

  18. Poisonwood Bible is one of my all-time favorites, so I'm anxious to hear about this one.

  19. Doesn't sound like a bad weekend to me! I'm not a napper either; I've just never benefited from it - I always wake up groggy and feeling worse. Also, making your own shaving cream, eh?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Bummer about the shaving cream...can you still use it though? Sounds like the perfect weekend to after your recent travels. Rest was probably much needed! Hope you're feeling refreshed today!

  21. That fudge croissant donut..... OMG. Bummer about the pipe leak =\ Hopefully the repairs aren't too major?!

  22. Sometimes you just need those weekends where you do a lot more relaxing and not as much adulting as you should. That sucks about the pipe breaking! I don't know what I would have done if that happened in our house! And Cards Against Humanity is one of our favorite games! I love playing it!

  23. Cards Against Humanity is always a good idea! And I officially need that fudge croissant in my life :-D

  24. Sad turd burglar cousin *snorts*. I think that accurately describes most things I try to make off Pinterest, to be honest.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Bummer that the shaving cream turned out differently! Hopefully it still works the same, that's all that really matters!

    ReplyDelete
  26. So the shave cream looks like a turd burglar but what about how it worked? Or did you say fuck it and toss it? Those donuts look amazing!!!! Can't wait for the make up dupe post, yay!!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Treat Lady... lmao
"It came out looking like a sad turd burglar cousin." LMAO They almost NEVER look like the original photo, do they??
BOO to the pipe! :( Everything all squared away?

    ReplyDelete
  28. That is a lot of verbs for one weekend!! Pretty sure I would have had more words for that pipe. That blue nail stuff is the devil in disguise. It burns my hands and makes me cry. We had one of our communitywide FAFSA workshops... and I needed all the sleep after that. 1 down 2 to go!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm so impressed with your attempt to diy shaving cream. My diys rarely come out like the photos either but as long as they're functional, that's what matters!

    ReplyDelete
  30. oh my gosh the pipe. that sucks balls. that fudge croissant donut looks amazing, i have never had a croissant donut, is that like the cronuts or whatever but copyright? i need one. my diys never come out right but i am intrigued by the shaving cream. and yay books! the american unhappiness has a pretty cover and i know i shouldn't judge by a cover but dammit i do.

  31. I think I would stare at your cute dogs too. The adorable head tilt is my favorite. And CAH - did you cringe at any of the answers?!? Listen - the jar is damn near identical for the shaving cream so there's that! ;-) And the DD fudgy donut - stop the madness. It's a good thing I avoid buying coffee out . . . because I could get into that donut!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Sucks about the shaving cream....I did make your awesome egg muffins though! I will never go back!!!

I Love both of those polishes...I really need to do my nails.

I want that donut like no ones business....man I wish there was a DD close to me....
