October Recommendations

Hello hello friends! You know the drill. Skimmers, recommendations are in bold (and typically clickable). My aunt Lori is joining me this month, as October is her birthday month.
_______________________________________________
1. Nasal Sprays for allergies. I was a major naysayer of nasal spray. Now I am not. I don't care what kind you use just use them. I found so much relief this fall using nasal spray in conjuction with Zyrtec. Yes allergies were that bad I needed two allergy fighters.

2. Leslie Sansone Walk At Home DVDs. On the recommendation of Stephanie I bought a Leslie Sansone DVD back in 2011. I have never looked back nor have I ever stayed as committed to a fitter life since finding Leslie. She is a positive fitness instructor that understands those of us that are not bootcamp material. As she says everyone has 15 minutes to do a mile.

3. Walking outside during the fall over any other time of year,  preferrably on dirt paths in the woods, across fields or in a park.  I am biased. I am an October born person. That said the crisp air, the smell of leaves, the crunching sound they make under your feet and their color are an amazing sensory experience.

4. Go to nail color. I love nail polish. I use to be a different color weekly person. Now I pick a go to color for every season. Not saying I don't plug in other colors here or there but the stability of grabbing that go to color brings me comfort.

5. Canister vacuums. I abhored them. I felt someone was following me. I vacuum almost daily due to three dogs. These vacuums go places my upright won't & gives me more control on bare floors.

1. Nature's AnswerElderberry Extract. I ingest this daily with water and really don't get sick. I know, I know, I was just sick. But that was the first time in over two years.

2. Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo. This is a little rich for my blood - $22 a bottle - but good Lord if it doesn't work better than Not Your Mother's, Suave, Dove, TRESemme, Batiste, Umberto, and Herbal Essences combined. I've tried them all.

3.  A niece, if you can get one. Having one is the absolute best.

4. Bluetooth wireless remote control shutter release for iPhone. It's only $6.99, and it's easy to use and awesome. For when you just have to take a selfie, or when you want to hold your phone up high and snap a photo without trying to not be shaky with your other hand.

5. Daniel Green Slippers. I prefer hard soled slips so I can go outside with them on. I love Daniel Green slippers. Last year I got a pair at Marshalls (the Salena model) and this year I ordered a pair of the Gildy style from Amazon. I need a half size up in them.

What are you recommending this month my friends?

  6. Someday Lola can do October recommendations with you and Lori!! I have always loved my canister vac- nothing better on bare floors- I have an upright for carpets. Walking in nature is very peaceful. Love my walks with Lori whenever we can fit them in. I need that phone charger thing you had on your trip in addition to this selfie thing. I need to google those slippers. All good stuff, girls. November is around the corner! Maybe Yogi Bear could make some recommendations- oh, for a pet psychic!

  7. I'm getting a niece in 6 weeks - can't wait!! LOL "if you can get one" - great recommendation :) I want to look into a wireless remote for my android phone - I'm sure they exist :)

  8. Agreed about the niece! They are so great. I'm going to try that dry shampoo, all the ones I try suck!

  9. I used to work out with Leslie Sansone videos all the time! I forgot about it until just now and can't remember why I stopped. I remember the first few times I did it being shocked at how much of a work out I just using 5 feet of space in front of my TV! I'm also super interested in that iPhone shutter release!

  10. I need to try the Elderberry, clearly! Add that too my list. I love signature polish colors, I definitely have a favorite each season.

  11. I have 5 nieces and could not agree more!!! Get one if you can!!! My mom told me last month about Daniel Green slippers, she said my nana swore by them. Thinking they were for "nanas" I didn't listen. Then, I bought a pair..love them!!!! Best slippers ever!!

  13. Loving all the lovins on your niece! And I'm still on the fence about The Living Proof products, I'm going to give them the ultimate test this weekend in the Caribbean humidity ;-)

  14. Clearly I need to try the Living Proof stuff because all of you keep recommending it. I was skeptical at first with some people but you? You never steer me wrong! Nieces and nephews are the best. The best!

  15. I'm trying to work on a go-to nail polish color for each season. I love my polish collection but I get overwhelmed with the choices every time I go to paint my nails. This would be easier.

I don't have a niece (yet. My little sister hasn't had any kids yet so you never know) but having a nephew is pretty cool, too. It's so easy to fall in love with a kid you can give back, isn't it?

  16. I love Leslie Sansone! I play her videos on Youtube when I don't feel like going to the gym. And I am so getting one of those remote control shutters for one of my friends for Christmas. I have seen one before but they were always a little pricier, this is definitely worth it for her selfies ;)

  17. A niece! My baby girl turns 6 next week :)

How does the elderberry extract taste? I am willing to try nearly anything that keeps us healthy this fall/winter.

  18. I totally agree, nieces are the best!

  19. I'm totally getting a remote control thingy. Maybe it will help with my shitty selfies. And of course, I agree about the nieces!

  20. ooo, I love good home workout dvds! I swear we have no room for me to actually use one but I'm still hopeful as we definitely used to always have space for it :(

blue tooth remote for the iphone is great! HAND SHAKE IS REAL AND IT NEEDS TO BE STOPPED.

  21. The niece one... cutest. I'd like one, but I have to settle for the fur-covered variety for now!

  22. i've been looking for the perfect dry shampoo! i've tried a lot of them, but haven't found the perfect one yet. a lot of them give my hair a chalky feel if that makes sense? i'll have to track down your recommendation!

  23. Nieces for the win!!!!! ;) I need a go-to color for my nails, I leave them naked far too often.

    ReplyDelete
  24. You're right, that dry shampoo works better than any other. Honestly, I've probably wasted more money trying out cheap ones than I would have spent just buying that one from the get go.

  25. oooh i really want that bluetooth thingy. also, i really want a niece, but my brothers and brother-in-law will not cooperate. so rude.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Dang, I wish I would've seen the nose spray thing last week!!!!!!!
I love how you added "a niece"... such a good little Aunt! :) I'm looking at that bluetooth camera thing online right after this... I'm intrigued!

  27. I've seriously heard so many good things about the Living Proof products that I'm planning on picking some up next time I hit up Sephora!

  28. I want a niece. Just kidding...kind of. My brother is 23 so I'm not really ready for him to have a kid. My cousin/best friend has 3 little ones 2-8 so they're the next best thing.

  29. Sweet picture of the niece. That is pretty good. :)

  30. I totally want that remote. It'd be easier to wrangle the kids for our selfies. Is the dry shampoo white or clear? I've been using Batiste for years because you can get it for brown hair. I can't handle the white powder. I want a niece! It's allll boys in my family.

  31. Yes to the nasal spray! I didn't have really terrible allergies until this year and was so happy to discover Flonase, and even more happy that having a prescription made it super cheap. I'm going to have to try that dry shampoo. I haven't liked any yet, but really would like to skip washing my hair every so often.

  32. 4 nieces and a nephew here and it is the best. Shopping for them is fun, plus the oldest is 10 now which means I get to reread some of my favorite books so we can talk about them :)

  33. Canister vacuums used to freak me out too but I love mine now. I even bought one for my Dad. Having a niece is the best, I totally recommend it too! ;)
