Friday night I finished Bloodline and then we went to get ice cream. Boom. I also got a new watermelon cooler bag, thanks to Shanna from Because Shanna Said So for directing me to it.
The watermelon cooler bag came in very handy at the Farmers' Market Saturday morning. Local friends, you should check out the Far Northeast Farmers' Market. There is absolutely nothing like fresh, local food...and my dogs are very partial to the treats there too. I got strawberries, mushrooms, zucchini, asparagus, spring mix, spinach, lemon and kale hummus, pork tenderloin, eggs, dog treats, soap. Back at home I did weights, put away laundry, and then sat out back with the dogs and enjoyed the nice breeze.
We spent the afternoon and early evening at Mom & Rich's pool with Stephen, then later Aubrey and Rich.
We headed to the Rover for wings and in celebration of Aubrey's official name change. Isn't it always the way that you see people you rarely see when you are un-showered and looking like a hobo in public? It was nice to see you Jen & Mandi!
MFD watched American Sniper and I laid in bed for a zillion hours unable to fall asleep. I hate that. Sunday I was up early doing some food prep, which was super easy again this week. I'm coming to the last week of my freezer cleanout. Breakfasts are peanut butter and bananas on light whole grain english muffins; lunches are turkey/feta/spinach burgers over spring mix; snacks are greek yogurt, cucumbers, and carrots; dinners are a shit ton of grilled chicken of various types as well as steamed and grilled veggies and scrambled eggs. MFD is on another cleanse so we're cleaning shit up again in our house.
Sunday was awesome in that I didn't have anything specific to do so I puttered and did things here and there not off of any list. I tended flowers, read some mags and started a new book, changed sheets and washed the dirty ones and towels, went through my bathing suits, cleaned out two places MFD shoves shit (drawer in front table and bowl on dining room table) as well as my bin in the bedroom that serves as a catch all.

Later I made rubs for all the grilled meats and prepped veggies for the grill. A nice and easy day to end the weekend. I also watched a bunch of Bosch episodes. I love Titus Welliver. I'm a fan. Thanks Kathy B for the recommendation!
And...it's June. Happy happy birthday to Kimmy Foo Foo today.
Some housekeeping - the final Choose Your Own Adventure Goal Setting Challenge linkup is this Thursday. The May theme was read and you're reporting in on how you did. A week from tomorrow (Tuesday, June 9) is the next Show Us Your Books Linkup. Thank you kindly.
Linking up with Biana at B Loved Boston for Weekending
Looks like you got a lot of great veggies at the market. Poolside is always a good day, meeting people after when unshowered not a good idea. Sometimes you just gotta roll dirty though. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love our market! But it closes next week until October because it is way too hot to go in the summer. I love the watermelon cooler bag!
ReplyDeleteThe Farmer's Market is the best. Ours stays open even in the winter, though the selection is obviously more eclectic then. That watermelon cooler bag is really cute. Mine is a WalMart bag that says Walmart and screams classy. :)
ReplyDeleteSo nice that your mom has a pool!!!
ReplyDeletewhat a great weekend and Bosch, so good! I have also recently gotten hooked on Younger. It's kind of ridiculous and that's why I like it.
ReplyDeleteA weekend that involves a pool is a great weekend!! Those strawberries looks amazing!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like it was a fab weekend. I love your watermelon cooler bag! So fantastic. Your ice cream cone looks so yummie. Do you go to Rita's for it? I so love that place. The last time I was in Philly, I think I went every night. lol.
ReplyDeleteHow did you like the end of bloodline - so good right! I can't wait for the next season!! You got so many great goodies form the fresh market and also thanks for the new show recommendation -we need one! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteDid you prefer Bosch (so far) or Bloodline? I fell asleep during the first episode of Bosch but think I could get into it. My love for Kyle Chandler makes me want to watch Bloodline more, though.
ReplyDeletePool time looks like a blast! I am so happy it's finally sunny down here again so I can soak it up. I thought about starting Bloodline the other day. Did you like it?
ReplyDeleteSuch a great haul from the farmers market!! I seriously need to take advantage of all the farmers markets around me...I never do enough, but when I do go, I love it!
ReplyDeletei love that watermelon bag! Is that shopbando? i love their stuff. I want a pool day, that looks perfect.
ReplyDeleteJealous of your warm weather over here. I am anxiously awaiting the "grand opening" of our local farmers market, which thankfully happens this week. Can not wait to find the goodness and crossing my fingers they have asparagus.
ReplyDeletethat watermelon bag is way too cute!!! And your farmer's market bounty looks delicious. There's nothing better.
ReplyDeleteGoing to DMV on Friday, my final step to my name change. What a pain in the arse! Celebrating it is a good idea.
I am super jealous of your farmer's market, I went at lunch and checked ours out a couple weeks ago and was sorely disappointed. There weren't even any fresh eggs!!
ReplyDeleteI love your watermelon bag and the healthy eats you got from the market look yum. Hopefully going to the market this weekend for the first time, can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI need to start being more proactive about finding a good farmers market around here, like you said there's nothing like local fresh food :)
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous week <3
Bloodline...YES!! I heart Kyle Chandler. I also binged on Bosch this weekend thanks to Kathy. Such a good show.
ReplyDeletePool weekends are good for the soul. A local farmer's market that I didn't know existed followed me on IG and now I have to go and since it's also at the beach, it's a double win.
I love Philly, I wish I could get there more often. Those historic streets with the cobblestone sidewalks are my favorite. Your mom's pool looks so nice and relaxing! Glad you had a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI need to check out Bosch. I meant to add it to my list last week and forgot. If you and Kathy say it is good...then it must be so! I wish I were closer to a farmers market!!! There are tons downtown here but I cant be bothered to drive in to town on Saturday mornings, you know? Haha! Love the dogs! Mae clearly nails every selfie. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI need to get to Philly besides just the airport lol
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for our weather to settle down so I can go to the Farmer's Markets, looks like you got some good stuff!
I love that cooler bag! The farmer's market is always a fun Saturday trip. I never did make it to the pool this weekend but looks fun, maybe next weekend if the rain ever stops! Once again your meal prep inspires me!!!
ReplyDeleteI love all the fresh goodies you got at the farmer's market. I haven't been to one in a while but that a great idea to go browse around on the weekend but I find their fruits and veggies taste so much better than what you buy in the store. The strawberries you got look amazing!
ReplyDeleteyay for bosch!! i'm glad you like it. i'm waiting for canada to get its shit together with the weather because it was SO COLD today and yesterday. like, wearing a down vest and sweat pants cold. seems the farmer's market is waiting for that too because it's not open yet!
ReplyDeleteI love those Philly pictures. It was HOT this weekend and so I packed for my work trip this week thinking it would be in the 80's and now I'm freezing. DAMN weather. That farmer's market looks wonderful. I haven't found one on the Jersey side yet and it's my goal for this summer. The city has great ones, but I want one closer to home.
ReplyDeleteHow fun is that watermelon cooler bag?! Love it!!

Please tell me there is a shit MFD says post coming with respect to sprinkles on his ice cream cone!! Love that watermelon bag... And way to make me feel lame on the name change game Audrey!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteHooray for farmers' markets. They're just starting up around here too. I am looking forward to poolside days too...if it ever stops raining here. Super cute watermelon bag. What kind of cleanse does MFD do? Juice? Fast? Have a great Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteI love days like your sunday when you don't really have anything to do or any plans. good for you for cleaning out the fridge. that's kinda similar my goal of the month--cleaning the clutter of my life and people!
ReplyDeleteSounds like an awesome weekend! You got some awesome purchases at the farmer's market and i love your new cooler bag. So cute! Hope your week is wonderful!
ReplyDeletethat watermelon cooler bag is so fun, but i am most jealous over the ice cream. seriously, i don't think we can get soft serve like that anywhere here. or maybe KC just won't tell me... rude. and again, so jealous of your farmers market goodies - everything looks so good! those strawberries look amazing.
ReplyDeleteFarmers Markets are MY FAVVY!
ReplyDeleteAnd that cooler bag - Love it. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! I feel so whimsical when I am rocking a cute bag. Don't you?
Looks like another awesome weekend! We have a nice farmer's market down in the city but since I live out in the boonies usually I just pilfer my parents' garden! Still you cannot beat fresh produce!
ReplyDeleteThat watermelon bag is freakin' awesome! :) We are hoping to get to our farmer's market this weekend if it doesn't rain!
ReplyDeleteYou know I LOVE Farmers Markets! Your cleanse food sounds like stuff I eat all the time, haha. Great job!
ReplyDeleteImpressive haul at the farmers market! I've got to find one nearby me.
ReplyDeleteThat watermelon bag is ADORABLE! It would be perfect for up north beach trips this summer!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous of all the fresh goodies you got at the farmer's market. Ours are starting to pop up but still not full blown. The struggle is real.
