TWTW - the last one in April

Friday night I was worn out. Totally. So I came home, I did my weights, vacuumed, did some laundry, then started doing a bunch of other shit. I meant to be in bed at 8 and got 100 second winds. I hate that. Other than that it was a low key night. Oh, and I sent MFD to the store for five things. This is what came back. Life lessons, my friends. Life lessons.
Saturday was a slow start. After I got my exercise in, I tried on every dress and pair of shoes I own and began the twice yearly complete wardrobe purge and reorganization I go through. This is still in progress as of today (Monday). It's a pain in the ass.
When I got tired of that, I went to get a manicure (Zoya Odette) and pedicure (OPI Senorita Rosalita - I can never wear this polish without thinking of my wedding, it's what was on my toes that weekend), then came home and read some mags in the sun.
We had a delicious dinner at my parents' house including a strawberry trifle dessert I wanted to eat 50 helpings of and which MFD did eat 50 helpings of.
You do not know what your patience level is until you go sneaker shopping with MFD. While he browsed interminably I left You Are Beautiful stickers around Dick's Sporting Goods like a dork. I also laughed uncontrollably at this picture on Instagram. MFD was all that's not that funny. Come on! Yes it is.
Sunday was the March of Dimes March For Babies. Team Eva the Diva rocked it. It was awesome to see a thriving, happy Eva next to her storyboard and it was a really nice day for a long walk for a good cause.
The umbrella is up, the new spring mats are out at both doors (both from Target), and the flowers are from Wegman's.
Weekly food prep: zucchini pie and berries for breakfast, orange peppers, carrots, and almonds for snacks; orzo salad with EVOO, caesar chicken thawed from the freezer, spinach, grape tomatoes, red onion, capers for lunches; and dinners are salmon, roasted potatoes, baked chicken, rice, and steamed veggies. Still working on that freezer and pantry cleanout.
This weekend in mail: Penzey's spices and this awesome Darth Vader tank top. Darth Vader is my alter ego. Are we calling that spirit animal these days?
This weekend in pugs...I can't even with Geege's tongue. The cutest. And Gus and Mae are now co-sleepers.
Sunday evening consisted of changing sheets and sitting on my ass. I didn't even make dinner. I ate Wegman's wings and animal crackers. Whoops. I was in bed before 8 and asleep before 10. It takes me a while to get used to so much fresh air again after a long winter. It tires me out.

I totally screwed myself for tonight, I have too much to do now. On a Monday. Barf.

  1. Geege's tongue pic, is just WAY too cute!! P did our grocery shopping last week and came home with two kinds of ice cream and two bags of chips in addition to the actual list :) That strawberry trifle looks so good, I've been craving strawberry dessert lately.

  2. MFD is not to be trusted at the store any more. Ha! Love all the Spring cleaning getting done. I still have a bit to do. The stickers around the store is a great idea! The pups look adorable and Mae is going in my pocket when I visit. ;)

  3. the pic of MFD and Mae is adorable. and the bird pic is hilarious, until it happens to you. when I first bought my car years ago, every time I would visit my parents there was this one bird who would do that and it pissed me off so bad.

  4. Picture is HILARIOUS, MFD. Gus is still my fav. I thought about dog napping him during my PHL layover from hell. Anddddd Penzy's Spices is around the corner from my office. Must check this out.

  5. OMG the bird!! That's hilarious! I really need to go through my clothes and make outfits, etc. Anything that doesn't have a "purpose" needs to get purged. It's just such a process though!

  6. I want a Wegman's NOW! Those pup pictures are the best. Continued Goddess Speed to Eva the Diva and all the babies!!! Darth Vader is not your spirit animal. JMJ!
    Have a happy week.

  7. You are so organised! I need to purge my closet but taking everything out of my STUFFED closet gives me anxiety. Go you. I can totally relate to you being drained Friday. I have been worn out for weeks and cannot wait to submit my thesis next month and have some free time. Literally cannot wait!

  12. I just started doing my spring purge, feels so good to have more space. Getting a second wind right when you go to sleep is the worse. Happened to me last night. Now, today I'm so tired. ugh.

I swear, anytime I am so tired I want to go to bed early, I'm wide awake when I get home. So lame. I love closet purging but yeah it's a huge pain in the butt! and that strawberry stuff looks ahhhmazing.

  18. That photo is hilarious. You know nothing, MFD (Sorry, GoT reference). Loving the spring decor! I'm attempting the bi-annual purge next weekend and already dreading it.

  19. Loving all the spring happiness! And my husband is just as bad as MFD when being sent to the store, no matter what strict instructions are given I know he'll come back with a lot of extra crap :-P

  20. Sounds like an awesome weekend! Purging clothes always feels so good...

  21. Hahaha you sending MFD to the store for 5 things is me every time I go. Oops. Your orzo salad with EVOO looks delicious!!! I need to try that out to switch things up a little bit. Geege's tongue!!! So damn cute!!! And look at Gus and Mae getting all cozy with each other. So cute! I didn't make dinner Sunday night either. Meh! I had peanut butter and crackers and Chris had snacked in the afternoon and never said he was hungry so yay for no dishes!

  22. My mother would never take me sneaker shopping growing up with how picky I was. Good thing I outgrew that habit....no I know it's not about looks and more about not rolling my ankles while runnings ;-) Glad to hear the success story of Eva the Diva ;-)

  23. Love dog tongues and co-sleeping pets!

  24. Those stickers are awesome! I need to remember to make your zucchini pie!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Oh, I LOVE that tongue. So, so cute!!!!

And also love how much space you seem to have in your house. I always want to get more done in my bedroom but I feel like I have no place to set anything!

And that EffJerry post is hilarious, hahahahahahah.

  26. Love the hydrangeas. I need a Wegman's! MFD looks so peaceful sleeping after his grocery store adventure!

  27. Coral nail polish reminds me of *my* wedding!! It's cool how little stuff like that can bring up some big memories. My son had 2 birthday parties to attend on Saturday and my daughter came down with a fever on Sunday (boo). I think she's alright though. No fever today and got some antibiotics.

  28. I like that Instagram pic, that account is so funny. My weekend was nice and relaxing until a party we had on Sunday. And it was a kid's party for my friend's son. I said it before...I hate Sunday parties. Friday night I totally loafed on the couch and watched the Bruce Jenner interview while snacking.

  29. Your dogs crack me up. They look like they rule the roost! :) How on earth you get anything accomplished with them around I'll never know.

Never send a man to the grocery store. I've learned this too!!! lol I actually can't stand shopping with my Jeff, he likes to look at every god damn thing whereas I have a list, bang it out and get the F outta there as quick as possible! BAM!

  30. Purging and trying to get rid of stuff is SUCH a pain. I always feel like I'm getting somewhere and then I'll second guess myself and put things back in my closet that I "might need" down the road. The only time I ever did a good job was when I moved because I only had so much space. Good luck!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. oh my god, that pigeon wins life...i laughed way too hard at that. i looked at my closet today and stood there trying to decide if i should start my spring purging....i turned off the light and went to the gym instead. maybe tomorrow! (?)

    ReplyDelete
  32. I love that you left those stickers at the store! So fun!! I purged my closet last week, but didn't get rid of as much as I thought I would so I probably need to re-purge sometime soon. Jacob never, ever strays from the list, ever. I'm more like MFD and get nine things when I meant to go for two. My Saturday was crazy busy with kid activities and I didn't even get out of my pjs on Sunday!

    ReplyDelete
  33. You crack me up with the "I was totally worn out and then I..." lol. Your patio looks so pretty! Zucchini pie sounds awesome! Fuck Jerry is one of my IG faves!

    ReplyDelete
  34. The puppy sleeping may be my favorite thing I've seen on my Monday. That's too cute of a sight! I need to start following that FuckJerry Instagram account because I just laughed so hard I teared up a little at the one picture. How can you not find that funny?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Your weekends always seem so full and productive...and sometimes make me feel like a lazy loser - ha! I never tire of your pug pics :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Oh those sleeping pug pictures! So adorable!
Sounds like a good weekend! I purged a bunch of clothes too a couple of weeks ago..it feels great to clean all the crap out that doesn't fit or I don't wear anymore!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I show Steve pics of the pugs every day, and I'm begging to get one. I've read that they get along fairly well with cats, just not sure what the fuzzies would think of a pup. I want one in the worst way!! That pic of MFD and Mae is superb; they both look like innocent, sweet sleeping babies! Hooooray Team Eva the Diva! What a super hero she is!!

  38. Um, that Instagram picture is exactly what happened to me with this asshole do cardinal when I worked at Lockheed and first got my Subaru! He would come every day, look at himself in the side mirror, peck at his reflection in said mirror, and just poop. I called him The Scarlet Poorernill!
