TWTW - treat yoself

Friday night I tried to get Mae to the vet and could not due to SEPTA's asshole lateness. We went over to Freddy & Alex's and had pizza. No photographic evidence exists of any of this.

Saturday morning I succeeded in getting Mae to the vet, got my 40/40 in, and celebrated my birthday at Brother's with Dad & Carol. It was awesome!
I ran around like a loon after that - Target (forgot what I actually went for), home to pick stuff up, Sam's (total fucking mayhem) for a veggie tray, then on to celebrate Pop's 84th birthday with the family. Pop & grandchildren + one great grandchild:
Weekly food prep: baked chicken, roasted sweet potatoes and spinach for lunches; spinach and tomato pie for breakfast (for me and MFD); power breakfast muffins (the other  half are in the freezer); pork tenderloin, mashed sweet potatoes, and steamed asparagus for Sunday dinner. Other dinners are leftovers, baked chicken with brown rice and broccoli, and salmon. Snacks are greek yogurt, lara bars, berries, bananas, and cucumbers.
Sunday was glorious. I finished a book, laid around, put my clothes out for the week, laid clothes out to pack for next weekend. We also walked the dogs.
Other weekend things:
-Got my 40 of exercise in all three days. That's 19 straight days for me!
-Online shopping. Birthday month treat yo'self.
-Nails. They were painted OPI California Raspberry. And I got super cute mini nail polishes as part of my birthday gift from Dad & Carol that I can't wait to use.

  1. Looks like you got a little bit of everything done. Food prep looks delicious. The weather was so nice, so perfect for walks. I am hoping this week brings lots of melting snow.

  3. Great job with food prep and getting in your 40! Fabulous! Last night, we were watching the NY Red Bulls game and your doppleganger (and MFD's) was right there in the front row...or was it you? A player was throwing the ball back into play and there was an audience shot. Fun! MLS season begins again.

  9. Did you bake that spinach and tomato pie all in the oven or did you partially cook the eggs on the stove top first? My fritattas haven't been coming out great the lsat couple of weeks and I think it's because I'm baking them the whole time.

  10. Sounds fun! When is your actual birthday?? Did I miss that post? I love your food prep, it reminds me what I can make ahead for breakfasts during the week.

  11. Haha isn't that the worst, I always go to Target and unless I have a list, I ALWAYS get sidetracked and forget why I was there in the first place. Your food prep for the weeks looks fantastic.

  17. I loved the picture of Mae at Dunkin on the way to the vet.

19 straight days is bananas. I am so jealous; I have not worked out once since I had Jack 8.5 months ago. I need to get my ass moving.

Where do you find the ground flax seed for your energy bites?

  19. SO jealous of the meal prep! I still haven't been able to get my act together that much. Although I've been doing good about chunks of my meals prepped (fruit and veggies in containers for the week, etc.) Sounds like it was a busy but fun weekend!

  20. 19 straight days?! get it girlfriend! I wish I could find a way to convince myself to commit to meals for a week so I could plan them on Sundays, I would probably eat a lot better if I did!

  21. Sounds like Sunday was a productive and relaxing day! Go you on all that exercise! You are killing it! I love MFD using a pug as a pillow :) And the pug snuggles! So cute! Always gotta be in the face! Have a great week!

  30. I love that everyone celebrated Pop! That just makes my day. (I miss both my grandfathers and great-grandfathers dearly, so I'm glad Pop is still around!) Those pugs are all up guarding MFD... they dare you.

  31. Anytime I don't make a list I will forget AT LEAST one thing. It's the worst when I don't make a list for Target because instead of just walking out or getting what I can remember I walk around trying to remember what the rest was which makes me want all the things.

  32. After a Saturday like that, I think a Sunday of laziness would be required! Yay for birthday month! Your family photo is great -- we are terrible about that in my family, we seem to only get pictures at weddings and funerals.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Woohoo! Such a weekend go-getter, I love it. I always grandstand plans for Saturday but end up doing like 2 hours of necessities & then lounge around and stave everything off until Sunday. I truly admire how much you get done!!

Your dogs are so, so cute. And you look a lot like your dad!

  34. I rarely say these things for fear of creeping people out but you are so naturally beautiful. Love that first pic with you and MFD. As usual your rocked the heck out of the meal prep.

  35. Pop is so darn cute! :)
I love mini nail polishes! I wish they ALL were small. You never use a full regular sized one before they start getting gunky.

  36. Your meals always look so delicious! And you're so organized with it! My husband had major SEPTA trouble Friday-he missed an appointment too! What a pain!
