Friday Five - pinterest things

No-knead dutch oven bread. I feel a compelling need to try this. Picture this in front of you, still warm from the oven, a piece cut off, slathered in butter and sprinkled with the finest dusting of Himalayan salt.

I want this star spangled scarf from Sheinside. I imagine myself gazing up at fireworks with my patriotic scarf thrown jauntily over my shoulder on July 4. Just kidding, I'll be driving on July 4 and it'll likely be in a tank top. Perhaps I could wear this for Veterans Day. I'm awaiting the arrival of some other scarves from them after reading about them on Because Shanna Said So - the prices and selection on the scarves are outstanding.

Is it cheating to share your own pin and try to force it on others? I don't care. You should pin and make these breakfast muffins.

I'm quite sure many of us could say this to at least one person in our lives. Or 10 people. Everyone knows at least one crazy motherfucker they wish they didn't know.

Blue Cheese & Steak roll ups made in the crock pot - I saw these on Unabashedly Me yesterday. Does it get any easier? I don't think so.

What have you been pinning lately? Did you make anything that turned out well? Please share!

I got fabulous news this morning - losing my shit all over social media yesterday (with the help of some of you) has brought American Home Shield to heel. The part for the heater was never found and a new heater will be installed Monday. Parts arrive today but the contractor has other installs. I'm totally fine with that - I have an end date for the madness and chaos and the zen has returned to my soul. It doesn't hurt that it will be close to 50 degrees Sunday.

Have a great weekend!

  2. That bread looks so good! We all know that one friend! Love the scarf and it would be perfect for veteran's day. They have a lot of cute things, let me know how it goes with getting the items your purchased.

  3. Thank the universe for an actual date for heater installation. Love the Jack Nicholson crazy card. Oh, the bread. Love bread and butter. I have not pinned anything. I am afraid to get lost on Pinterest and even forget my log on info!
Probably for the best, but it is a vision board, which is important. Happy Friday ! Love, your Momma

  8. Jack Nicholson is the man - his delivery with some of those lines just cracks me up , and yes, I want to say that to a couple people I work with.

And Steak and Blue Cheese roll ups? OH YUM OH OH OH YUM. I think I'm making this instead of the zucchini noodle alfredo this weekend.... or could both become an epic meal? I say yes, you?

  9. Yay for getting a brand spanking new heater!! Social media rants have served me well too!!! I need more scarves and that one is really cool. Blue cheese and steak sounds like crack to me right now. Actually cheese sounds like crystal meth... or some other highly addictive substance to a junkie. I miss cheese.

  10. I always see recipes for no knead bread, I'm curious. But as usual, I'll let you do it first and then report back :)

  12. So happy to hear your heater problems are almost over!! Hooray! That bread recipe sounds so good. This is probably a stupid question but does that mean it's baked in pot in the oven?? Ok I guess I have to click over to the recipe. Lately I've been pinning travel type things...event though I have no vacations plans whatsoever. BOO

  13. I seriously need a dutch oven - if only to make bread haha. I've always wanted to try making my own. So glad your heating problems will be resolved soon!

  14. I'm so freaking glad they're finally taking care of your heater situation. That was just getting out of hand. There are some things that I roll my eyes at when people get all batshitcrazy about on social media, but that wasn't one of them. So glad it worked!! And those steak roll ups MIGHHHHTTTT have to be in my cockpot at some point this weekend.

  18. That bread looks delicious! I've been pinning a lot of planner inspiration lately! I've become mildly obsessed with the mix of scrapbooking and planner design!

  19. You're so much more patient than I would be about the heat! Glad they're finally responding, though!

As Good As It Gets is one of Andrew's family's favorite movies. He and my FIL and SIL quote it ALL THE TIME and I don't even realize it. We watched it this weekend and I was like "Oh! I never knew 'I'll tell your waiter' was a movie quote..." Also, my husband is more like Melvin than I care to admit sometimes...

  20. First of all, I've seen a ton of pins for dutch oven bread, and now I'm thinking I really need a dutch oven. A turquoise Creuset, please.

LOVE that scarf. I've been drooling over a really similar one on the Forever 21 website for a good month now, and it's only $10.90. I might pull the trigger on that soon.

So glad there's a light at the end of the tunnel for your heater to be fixed!!! So ridiculous.

  22. When I see scarves like that I always think "I wish I wore scarves!" I just can't do it. I hate things on my neck. Yay for heat!

  24. The bread looks good but I don't see myself baking bread.... ever.... so someone else will have to do it and let me try some! Scarves are so cute but they feel itchy and I barely wear the ones I already have.

  25. I have an amazing rosemeary cheese bread recipe. It freezes well too. I should blog it. I always forget to blog my eats. Yay for a new heater!

  27. Glad things are looking up for the heat situation! I've been next to useless on Pinterest lately. The most I've done is scrolled through the humor section. Nothing useful, or even that interesting. A few good chuckles, though!

  28. You just brought me back to my middle school days when I went with my mom to pick up buns for my brothers baseball game at a bakery. They gave me a private little tour while we waited, and gave me a loaf of bread right out of the oven, unsliced and OH MY WORD. I swear to you I could eat an entire loaf right now!!!!

  29. MMMMMMMMM, fresh bread! And I already pinned your recipe, so no shame in sharing! I pin lots of recipes and try very few. Though I did nail these Streussel-top peach muffins (subbed apples) in the fall. So good. The topping alone is awesome.

  30. Yay on the heat resolution! And high five for your patience!! And I'm on a low carb high protein challenge so your pins make me drool.

  31. LOL @ the stocked on crazy! So true. so true!!! And I love that star scarf! So patriotic and fun!

I am so glad that the heat situation is finally getting taken care of. Why cant a company just do the right thing from the start? Why is that so hard? I hope you have a great weekend knowing the end is near!

  32. I want TWO loaves of that bread... one for the butter/salt combo and another to dip in a big ass bowl of soup. Get in the kitchen where you belong and make it happen little woman!
