2. I had fish tacos and a side of mac & cheese. Alagash, cheesecake, and coffee rounded out the meal. They show their desserts on these little viewfinders there. It was pretty cool.
3. Saturday morning I split up the book ends and took Gus to get his nails clipped early. That was an experience that's best summed up by the phrase shit show.
4. Speaking of dogs, I got this mat for the basement that has their photo on it from Personal Creations. Now they can walk all over themselves.
5. Weekly food prep and freezer cooking...ham and cheese egg muffins for breakfasts, a mix of wild and brown rice/steamed broccoli/chicken for lunches, Hungarian mushroom soup for dinner on Saturday, breakfast burritos to freeze, and cheesy chicken and wild rice casserole (no cream of soups) to freeze for my girl Marla at Luck Fupus along with veggie beef barley soup and power breakfast muffins. The morning wore me out.
6. Like all weird dog owners, I was taking selfies with Mae. She's not good at them. She provides eleventy billion outtakes.
7. Saturday night errands followed by Designer Bag Bingo.
8. Coffee talk with Brie from A Breezy Life Sunday morning. We were talking nonstop for nearly two hours. It was great!
9. A blissful wander around Marshalls. I needed a new suitcase for our upcoming trip. I did not need anything else.
10. Sunday dinner: korean beef over brown rice with a side of steamed veg.
On Mondays I'm doing a picture linkup called Picture Practice with Kelli at Just Beachy. If you'd like to participate, here are the prompts through December. Share on your blog, or if you don't blog on Twitter or Instagram every Monday with the hashtag #PicturePractice. This is my photo for the prompt thankful. I'm thankful for these fools and the comforts of home. Here's MFD with hat hair in case you've ever wondered what that looks like. And me with no makeup/shower, but you know what that looks like.

Linking up with B Loved Boston for Weekending.
I am thankful you have this framily and that we picked each other to be family when we were on the other side waiting to come back to this side. Love your Momma
ReplyDeleteI think the Mae selfies are adorable! We got suitcases at Marshall's too...or TJ Maxx...I can't remember. We got the hard-side Kenneth Cole Reaction...24", I think. LOVE them! I just picked up the soft sided 21" to replace my carry-on. Happy Thanksgiving! :-)
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful for the short week!! Looks like a fun group of friends, glad you got to spend time with them. Poor Gus looked so pathetically sad. Marshall's always makes my throw extra stuff in the carriage, it's magic! ;)
ReplyDeleteWe had Friendsgiving this weekend, too! Looks like a good TWTW pre-Thanksgiving edition. Glad you and Brie were able to meet up, jealous I wasn't there! Thank you so much for the delicious food, can't wait to eat it! Means a lot that you would take the time to do that for little ole' me!
ReplyDeleteyes to short weeks! and even better are memories with good food and good friends! i ran errands and cleaned up my apt. i've been sick and haven't been leaving the house. finally better!
ReplyDeleteLove that your friends meet up for a friendsgiving and that you all are still so close! Also Gus is the cutest .. I had a shihzu poodle and she HATED having to clip nails and clean her teeth ...or really anything to do with the groomers
ReplyDeleteThe nail clipping face killllllled me. So dramatic pup!! Love the outtakes too!! Hurrah for friendsgiving!
ReplyDeleteYour Friendsgiving sound wonderful and the food - YUM!!! I'm such a fan of Korean Beef - so good the second day too!! Hope you have a great Monday!
ReplyDeleteThe viewfinders are genius - what a great way to make more diners look at you rmenu! You have to love a pet selfie - cats like to make them less perfect (but more fun) too.
ReplyDeleteI love how everyone is saying they're thankful for a short week but Erica is off from school for the whole week so these next few days--until we leave for my parents' house--will feel like an eternity.
ReplyDeleteYour weekend seemed like so much fun! And what is it with dogs and their refusal to sit still for selfies? Barkley and Dobie refuse to cooperate, too.
Your Friendsgiving looked like so much fun! I didn't get to meet up with my friends this year. We usually do something the Friday before. Love what you wrote about Marshall's too. I could spend hours in there putting little things into my cart and end up spending like $200!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited to have a short week again this week. Friendsgiving sounds wonderful!! Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen those viewfinders in years! Such a cool idea. I still have a lot of work to do on the selfie. I can't even take one of myself let alone with my dog. I've tried, it wasn't cute! You and Mae look adorable!!
ReplyDeleteIt's been far too long since I've played bingo!! I never win, but there's always a chance. I have such good memories of playing with my Grandma :) Looks like a wonderful weekend!
Nice what upcoming trip do you guys have?! I know you mentioned traveling in December :P That's a WONDERFUL weekend :) Mine was busy buying everything for Thanksgiving since we're having friends over. It was supposed to be a lazy weekend full of couch time - NOPE. Spent all of it going from one place to another. Oh well short work week!! Score :) Happy Monday Steph! -Iva
ReplyDeleteYep-I know the feeling of having a lot of outtake pictures. I was trying to take some pics of my sister's beagle mix last week and all of my pictures are of a blur or parts of her body that don't include her face.
ReplyDeleteAlso, that viewfinder is an interesting touch!!
friendsgiving with friends since highschool is decidedly the best. Love the pug outtakes. and designer bag bingo sounds like a blast. I want in.
ReplyDelete:) Your weekend looked like so much fun! I love meeting up with a friend and just chatting time away!
ReplyDeleteI have a short week two - just have to make it through tomorrow!!!! YAY!
Happy Monday!
Poor Gus, how dear you clip thy nails!!! Friendsgiving looks so fun!!!! And I love the picture of Mae and her surprise nose kisses!
ReplyDeleteCan one really go in to Marshal's and only purchase exactly what was needed? I think not...
Sounds so exciting. You really have lots going on.
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness the selfie outtakes are adorable.
ReplyDeleteaw i love your friendsgiving, so lovely you all stay in touch and still like each other - i definitely don't have friends that i've known that long.
I don't go into Marshalls purely for the not needing but still buying issue. lol
Your Sunday dinner looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteI actually need a new suitcase too. Ours has a hole in it.
Sounds like a great weekend! Ive had that Korean recipe pinned and been meaning to try it out. Let me know how you like it. The mat from Personal Creations is awesome. I've bought a few things from that site and they're connected to Ebates as well.
ReplyDeleteThose viewfinders rock, how fun! And seriously cool that you all have been friends for long-- lifetime friends are often hard to come by!!! Adding that casserole to my "must make" list :)
ReplyDeleteMae is so cute!! I like the viewfinders to see your desert - then nobody could see me staring at the same pic for 10 minutes.
ReplyDeleteI keep seeing recipes without cream of soups and I am always a fan of chicken & broccoli!
The dessert viewfinders are so cute!
ReplyDeleteI am obsessed with the dessert viewfinders. What a fun idea!
ReplyDeleteThe topping on that mac and cheese looks DELICIOUS! And how stinkin' cute are the desert menus in viewfinders?! I used to love those things as a kid!
ReplyDeleteGus. Looks. Pitiful. Getting your nails clipped is TRAUMATIZING! ;P
Mae looks like such a tiny little chunk ball... I love it!
"me with no makeup/shower, but you know what that looks like." Bahahahha! I swear I was gonna say that until you beat me to the punch! :)
I wish we had designer bag bingo around here!!! That sounds like fun.
ReplyDeleteYour Mae selfie are great...your hair looks really good! I'm always so jealous of your bingo games, I want to go play! I use to love bingo. Did MFD give written permission for that photo :) LOL! Sounds like a productive and fun weekend!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great week!! I want fish tacos for thanksgiving! YUM!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot going on. It looks like a blast though.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday
the viewfinder dessert thing seems really neat!
ReplyDeleteUm...you look like a celebrity in those dog selfies!! Perfect hair, perfect makeup, and you are beautiful without all that. I would have flipped over those viewfinders. I think I still have one!
ReplyDeleteI love your thankful picture and your selfies with Mae, I can never get Salem to sit still for a selfie. I've got lots of pictures of me with a big black blur though.
