Snarky Thursday

One of my favorite television clips of all time is the inimitable
Olivia on Toddlers & Tiaras whispering,
"I.don't.like.you" in her mother's ear. Hilarious.

Things I don't like this week:
  • Women's dry cleaning is more expensive than men's. Hate.
  • Weight is so much easier to put on than it is to take off.
  • Being out of shape. Last night, I popped in the Jillian Michaels DVD. Her name should be Killian Michaels because is a beast with a snarl, but she kicks ass. If I wasn't so out of shape I would be able to sit down on the toilet or lift my arms over my head without cringing. No one's fault but my own!
  • The first sentence of a blog post often paralyzes me. I spend too much time dicking around with it. It's like going on a first date. Should I say hello or just enter into it? Is this moment serious or flippant? Overthinking ruins blogs and dates.
  • Receiving one zillion game requests on FB. I don't play the games, people. I don't play the games. In fact, I've hidden the games, but I keep getting the invites.
  • People who manage to make themselves victims in every situation.
  • I'm all out of Homelands to watch for what appears to be a very long time. SHOWTIME, give me some new episodes for the love of all that is holy.
  • Snoring. Between MFD and the snuffly pugs, I need ear plugs.
  • Multimedia. MFD and I have been together for 10 years, and he still plays something with noise on a phone when the TV is on, which drives me batshit crazy. At least at this point all I have to do is yell, "MULTIMEDIA!" and he mutes the TV. So there's that.
  • People who stand at the top of the steps that lead down to the train platform looking at the board as people are running right for them like their ass is on fire to catch their train below. Someone is going to fall and I really hope it's not me. Although falling is funny.
Let's end on a good note:

1. This blog now has a Facebook page. Please go and like the hell out of it. Thank you.

2. Christina at Easily Entertained is celebrating her birthday on Sunday. And in an act of kindness, instead of gifts, she's trying to raise money for charity:water. This is such an important and worthy cause. Please go here and donate if you're so inclined. You can't imagine how much of a difference a $5 donation can make to people who don't have access to clean water.

If you donate, head back to her blog and enter her giveaways. You donate and people get free water AND you get a chance to win prizes. Winner winner, chicken dinner, framily. Go get it.

    1. I don't get it. I didn't do anything to the text that's highlighted. Bastard blogger.

I am never going to be a skinny girl. I'm okay with that. I want to be in shape.

  2. I've never succssfully made it through a Jillian Michaels workout without having to rest, skip something, or make it easier. She is a total beast.

  5. You know what gets my goat? The FB posts of some poor kid with an incurable, debilitating disease and it says "click like if you think this is the most beautiful child in the world or leave a comment if you think this is disgusting." Ummmm.... Come again? Hubby does the same thing...plays Scramble with Friends while Hardcore Pawn is playing in the background. I'm not sure what's worse.... Hearing the game exclaim "excellent! Excellent!" or one of the fine folk on Hardcore Pawn scream " why you ain't gonna give me six hundred dolla for my 24 in TV from 1992?!?!"

    PS- I don't like you

  6. Amen, holler on the games. I used to play solitaire on the computer incessantly, till I got a pain in my shoulder blade. Would rather read
or tweet that waste time that way.
Victim- do not like that either.
Glad I never had to deal with the train. Commute by car today on the 95 is a total nightmare. Can anyone PLEASE harness that Beam me up, Scotty
    thing!??
Carpe diem this sunny, warm-for-winter day!

    Love your momma

  8. I don't want to jinx myself but fortunately I haven't gotten the barrage of game requests. I get a few, but not enough to make me go postal.

  9. Haha. I hate those game requests as well. It's alwasy block block block. The 30 day shred is satan the first few days but I usually do lose some good weight after a month.

  12. Ugh, I HATE coming up with the first sentence of a blog post. I start far too many posts with "So...." I annoy myself.

  13. Yay I donated to Christina's water fund. Love her!

And I need to see that clip of the girl telling her mom that - hilarious!! I'm so out of shape that about two years ago I did the Jillian Michaels DVD once, not even making it through the whole thing, and gave up. So good for you!

  14. homeland is such a good show!! over the holidays i started watching parenthood; they're in their 4th season and i blew thru all 3 seasons in A WEEK! this meant a lot of late nights watching "just one more episode".

when i first started working out, i used jillian michaels' 30 day shred and called her a whore for the first 15 of the 30 days.

  17. Kim is so annoying, I can't even take her. <3 the facebook page. And I too hate those stupid game requests. Thankfully you can ignore it - once you get one, hit the x and you can ignore all requests from that person, and all requests from that game. Win.
