Believe it or not, I did not take a tremendous amount of photos when we were in Emerald Isle. I typically would have 200+ and I barely hit 90. It was a good and restful week with my family on one side of the house and Aubrey's on the other. I was deep into the languid southern way by the time we hit Emerald Isle after our time in Ocracoke. Most of our time was spent just being - on the beach morning noon and night, watching the sky and chasing the light, rocking on the porch, reading, enjoying the quiet and the shrieks of Lola Jean as she followed her cousins around. And fishing 24 hours a day for MFD except the day the guys all golfed.
Now that I think about it, I don't think I ever fully shared photos from the last time we were in Emerald Isle two years ago, aside from on my weekend posts. It must be a just be place.
Happy 40th to our BFF Evan today. Love you! And we need a new photo together. Also, if you yourself need photos, Evan is your man. Check out Evan Leslie Images on facebook and follow him on Instagram.
That rock flag is so awesome!
ReplyDeleteLoving that rock flag and all the pretty ocean pics! xo, Biana-BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteLove that shell flag. Also, amazing that Lola Jean is still not on the internet all this time later - way to go family for respecting what her parents want! I think something crazy like storms just happened in Ocracoke over the weekend. I only knew what it was from your posts.
ReplyDeleteDitto on the rock flag! I'm thinking a sign of a good vacation is the lack of photos ... your time is filled with experiencing that you don't have time for photographing. At least, that's what I tell myself when I realize I didn't take many pictures.
ReplyDeletethose cotton candy skies! Amazing! And joining in with everyone else to say that rock flag is amazing. Also I just got back from a vacation and barely took any pictures, and it was incredibly more relaxing than the last one where I took ten thousand pictures, so there's that.
ReplyDeleteGive me all the sunrise and sunsets. I never tire of seeing pictures of them! That picture of the waves is so awesome!!! It sounds like you guys had a great time!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Those pics are amazing. I'm craving a week long trip that isn't all about seeing as much as possible. I think that will be the next big plan we make.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures. I would just sit around and enjoy the views with a good book too. Sounds like the perfect, relaxing vacation!

ReplyDeleteNothing beats a relaxing vacation and just being. And now I'm craving the sounds of waves crashing and of course a mimosa :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like y'all had so much fun and got to relax too! Sometimes less pictures means more fun and relaxing!
ReplyDeleteI've got the picture pages jingle stuck in my head now! That is a good memory except ew, Bill Cosby. Love all the photos you ended up taking, looks like a lovely time!
ReplyDeleteThe beach/ocean/cloud photos are impressive!
