I was out on Friday night - second week in a row. One more and my old lady status gets revoked, am I right? MFD and I had dinner at Talula's Garden. I've been dying to go and it did not disappoint. A little pricey, we had the tasting menu and it was worth it. I really loved sitting outside in the garden.
We jetted over to the Mann to see David Gray and Philly boy Amos Lee. Our friend from high school plays one zillion instruments in the Amos Lee band and it was great to see Andy up on stage. All performances were full of energy and enjoyable, especially from our sweet ass fourth row seats. The Mann is my favorite place to see a concert in the Philly area. It seems homey and small and has a great view of the skyline.

Saturday afternoon Debbie and I took a drive down to Ocean City, NJ, and met up with Sean, my Mom and Rich.
We strolled the boards, shopped, ate boardwalk food, and touched the ocean before heading to Sean's Red Bull game right off the beach on Sixth Street. It was a great family day! Debbie's Fitbit says we walked over five miles which clearly justifies the gelato AND custard I ate. Fatassery at its finest.
Happy Happy birthday mother & Happy Father's day to my stepdad!
Sunday we met my Dad & Carol for breakfast for Father's Day and took Brother's Pizza over to my father-in-law. Previous posts on my dad can be found here and here! We're lucky to have good dads in our lives. I can't wait to vacation with mine next week!
Sunday afternoon was picking up and packing up for vacation. Since it's summer, my obsession with photographing flags has returned.
Sunday night we watched the first three episodes of Orange is the New Black. Now Alex is whiny too? Cripes. Piper is whiny enough for everyone.
I like flag photos... nice job!! Whatever you ate for dinner on Friday? Looks like a win. A Saturday that involved feet in water, gelato, and 5 miles? Also a win. I definitely approve of this weekend.
ReplyDeletei like both of thoseartists, so that would have been a great show. those muffins look tastay (that's how i said it in my head), and glad you had a nice time with the dads. i just got back from vacation and clearly needed more time. enjoy yourself!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun and full weekend!! Vacation time is near. The summer means not wanting to cook at all so big props for actually baking muffins.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fabulous weekend, and yay for your 2nd Friday night out in a row. I enjoy staying in on Fridays too, but sometimes fun happens! And that garden and beach time look amazing :-D
ReplyDeleteGirl you had a jam packed weekend!! So happy the restaurant and concert were a success on Friday night!! really great that you were able to celebrate with both your dad and your FIL!! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great weekend. I love your flag pictures. I'm going on vacation too and I have no time for this work BS this week! Blah! Enjoy your vacation next week!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you photographed things at the shore and your Friday night dinner sounds fantastic, both in the tasting menu and ambiance. Custard and gelato in one day make you my hero. Love the fitbit for justifying my daily food intake. Hooray for vacation! Hope you still find time to text about the inevitable laughable assholes you'll encounter at the beach!
ReplyDeleteWhat a busy but fun weekend. How exciting only one week before vacation! yay! so fun.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the pictures! As always. I'm going to weird for a second - but your Dad looks so young. Could easily pass for your older brother! Have a great vacation...
ReplyDeleteI did the fall back asleep thing on Sunday, you're right glorious!
ReplyDeleteYayy for touching the ocean and boardwalk food as for 5 miles of walking, if I did that I probably wouldn't be walking today!
I love flag photos! Even my lock screen on my cell phone is a flag photo that I took. The week before vacation is the best/worst. You're so excited that it's almost here but then it's so close that you're just sitting there wishing it would hurry up already. I use my fitbit to justify food too & that custard & gelato were totally justified.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun-filled weekend!! Dinner on Friday night sounds amazing followed by David Gray! So fun! Love your A&A bracelets of course!
ReplyDeleteBusy, awesome weekend! How cool that your old friend plays in Amos Lee's band. That's pretty awesome. And you just can't NOT eat boardwalk food, right??
ReplyDeleteTalula's garden looks so good. I especially like it when they prepare the food like that. you know you're paying more, but it's worth it. 4th row seats??? that's awesome, can't beat that!
ReplyDeletei need to get on a better diet routine. i had goldfish for breakfast...
looks like you had a nice time with your Dad. jealous of the upcoming vacay. and I 'm with you on ALex being whiny.
I'm with you on being unable to cook or do much of anything really right before going on vacation. Love the flag photos, so I'm happy your summer obsession is back!

ReplyDeleteI love Amos Lee! That sounds like a great concert. :)
ReplyDeleteTalulah's sounds like an awesome place to dine! I also really want an Alex/Ani bracelet- preferably in the Disney variety! ;)
ReplyDeleteLook at you going out two Friday's in a row! That place looks awesome, and all your food looks delicious. I am riding the dont want to do shit this week before vacation train along with you! Let's just hope it goes quick and easy, right?!?!
ReplyDeleteYou saw David Gray?!?!? I'd love to see that man... He literally makes me swoon, that voice of his... Our first dance was to him.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great one, but no puppy pics...:(. I trust the gang is all well though.
I also don't want to cook before vacation. I don't want to have wasted food by the time it's time to leave.
ReplyDeleteI hope those work days speed by for you.
ReplyDeleteI didn't make it very far into the first season of OITNB. I consider myself to be in the minority.
You had me at Boys II Men.........
ReplyDeleteWhen Houston got an MLS team, I was still there. For the first three seasons, I went to most games. I traveled to DC and Dallas (no, not far) for the MLS Cup games. I absolutely loved the atmosphere. Then, I moved.
seriously, you do more in a weekend than i do in a month! i've been binge watching oitnb and am nearly done with it. oops. and jealous of your upcoming vaca!
ReplyDeleteaw, lots of fun going on here! And I spy "Hell or High Watermelon Beer" which is my favorite beer on earth in the summer. Yum!
ReplyDeleteThat "Hell or High Watermelon" drink looks good. Where did you buy it?
ReplyDeleteI forgot all about David Gray until this post. He's got some good songs...Pandora time! I got a new Alex & Ani bracelet this weekend too, my mom bought me a hummingbird.
ReplyDeleteNow more than ever I'm envying you and that vacation right now...lol
