What are some things you think are worth every cent?
EXTRA. IPHONE. CHARGERS. Yes yes yes. I cannot tell you how many I have to purchase as backup and of course there must be one in the car. Actually most of these would be on my list as well!
ReplyDeleteI TOTALLY AGREE ON LEGROOM!!!! We also have SO MANY phone chargers...
ReplyDeletesplurging on vacation - if i'm going to go away, the hotel better be nicer than my bedroom
ReplyDeletea 90min massage instead of a 60min one - TRUST ME ON THIS ONE
i don't do this anymore but -- designer jeans. i have both old navy and sevens and when i put on those sevens, they hug my body like nothing else and just makes everything look GOOD.
skincare - never ever scrimp on this!!
and i'm with you on a good pair of (polarized) sunglasses. i bought my maui jims for just under $300 and while i balked at the price, the sales guy told me "these are going to be the BEST sunglasses you'll ever own" and he was right.
thanks for linking up!

Vodka and Soda
Nice hotels when I actually travel. Sanuks, Vitamin E body butter from The Body Shop, Essie nail polish, Beauty Counter shampoo & conditioner, Raymour and Flanigan Brynn denim couches, Corn free, gluten free dog food & treats for my dog that is allergic to corn. I have gone cheap and regretted it.
ReplyDeleteOh and professional hair color definitely.
ReplyDeleteI think I need a colored enamel cast iron pot.
ReplyDeleteI also placed another Prime order the other day…there has never been anything more convenient.
Great post idea!
Brand name condiments, yes! Time, used with purpose is so important. Thanks for reminding me I need a new Phone charger, my spare is frayed! ;)
ReplyDeleteYes and yes! All of these!
ReplyDeleteYES to balcony rooms on cruises... absolutely worth every single penny! We cheaped out and did an inside room for a short 3 night cruise last year and said never again :-P
ReplyDeleteDefinitely professional hair color. Worth every cent. I agree with all of these but would also add good coffee and high quality cosmetics. Also quality clothing, depending on what it is. I'm all about buying a cute shirt at Target, but am willing to pay more for jeans or shoes that I will be wearing for a long time.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely agree with almost all of these. I'd rather pass on three mediocre restaurants to have one nice, long dinner somewhere.
ReplyDeleteFarm fresh food and Amazon Prime are a must! Thanks for the shout out:)
ReplyDeleteYou should try Bath & Body Works candles. I like them more than Yankee and they always have great sales. The 3 wick ones are the best!!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you on most of these...especially a view of the ocean from land. It's worth every single extra penny to me.
ReplyDeleteGood coffee beans, a good haircut, a versatile everyday purse, and good food (duh). I want to work pedicures into that mix somehow...
ReplyDeleteA good bathing suit or two, a haircut I can let air dry, Yankee or locally crafted candles, soap/lotion that smell heavenly, a good razor!
ReplyDeleteMy upgraded vehicle. I'm driving Yurtle day in and day out, her cooled seats? LUURVE. Dual temp controls? LUURVE. Automatic lights? LUURVE. Sunroof? Duh. Back up camera? LIFE CHANGING. WOOOORTH it, sooo soo worth it. and she was brand new, so I got the warranty.. piece of mind is worth it.
ReplyDeleteBed/bedding. I have a Tempurpedic mattress and my BF thinks he's on a trampoline when he sleeps. Holy crap. We had to share an air mattress for a few days and I'm pretty sure he was trying to play "popcorn" with my sleeping body. Normal mattresses just aren't the same as the tempurpedic. He can bounce the night away and I don't even notice on my bed.. and quality sheets.. WORTH it.
And I have to agree with kathy, 90 mins vs 60 mins.. TOTALLY worth it. Epecially if you buy that sucker on Groupon/LivingSocial and it's already cheap. Speaking of, I need to go schedule mine!
My Kitchen Aid Mixer and convection oven, All the fans in my house, love fans! Our beautiful pool-every day it is open it feels like we are on vacation, dependable vehicles-they are your best friends-name them and take good care of them,
ReplyDeletenice perfumes-especially when there is a free gift-my biggest splurge on myself. Ben and Jerry's karamel sutra ice cream, my iphone-a mini computer & life line to my people and the world, my washer and dryer, samsung fridge with one drawer for cold cuts/wine, and a freezer drawer,my Sears canister vac, a nice rain jacket with a hood, flip flops,my vitamins and supplements,my new Coach cross body bag from Marshalls a steal at 40 bucks. OK better stop now. Welcome home and so happy you had a happy, safe and sound trip.
Love your MOMMA
Cast Iron Cookware
ReplyDeleteGrill pan for the stove
Pedicures
Comfy Throw Blankets
:)
Couldn't agree more with your list. I always try to upgrade when flying. I did it both ways when I traveled to London. While pricey, totally worth it. Plus I could use the first class bathroom which was so nice and BIG!
ReplyDeleteName brand condiments!! Ha!! I am the one who buys the off-brand and can't tell the difference! And YES to a room with a view and pedicures with a hot rock massage!! :) I also splurge on good razors....worth every cent!! :)
ReplyDeleteYes to the pedi, cast iron, farm food, condiments, Prime, ocean, toothbrush, etc.
ReplyDeleteAlso good coffee, Vitamix, stones, music, quality ice cream, supplements, quality flip flops, quality dog food, safe & dependable car, and on and on...
I agree, there are just some things that are worth it. I would also say a good lipstick. meaning above $3.50. that's what's good in my book.
ReplyDeleteI want LASIK. And a knee length warm jacket, but not down. They need to make me something warm and synthetic and not plucked from a live creature (I'm a big baby about that stuffs.)
ReplyDeleteOooh, yes! I may have to steal this idea. I've not had LASIK (want it, though), but would pretty much agree with all of these!
ReplyDeleteI have never been on a cruise and I hate to fly. Oh and I have not had lasik...but I completely agree with all of your other things!!!! Except your Yankee candle is my B$BW candle (which I always get 2 for $22 so it isn't a huge splurge.)
ReplyDeleteI will lay down some $$ for good facial care products that work, purses, pants that fit really well, comfortable shoes, shampoo, k-cups, and I really want a Kitchenaid mixer and I think it will be worth it!
Products that fight against Animal Testing, comfortable shoes, high quality purses and good candles (the 3 wick kind from BBW.) I could probably go on for a while.
ReplyDeletei totally agree with the flights, though i dont mind on shorter ones - the longer flights (ie LA to Sydney) it's totally worth it, and of course thats when it goes up in price! i have never had LASIK but I am all for extra iphone chargers - always losing the blasted things!
ReplyDeleteYes! Yes! Yes!! I can't decide what my favorite is but I know I agree with all of them.
ReplyDeleteGood quality shoes. Don't mess with your feet. A good tattoo artist, seriously pay extra for high quality work. Good bras and undies... there is nothing worse than tugging and pulling all day long. Real cream or at least half and half in your coffee... so much better and you only need a little bit.
ReplyDeleteAll of these things!!!! I LOVE THIS POST. I think it should be a linkup.....or at the very least I will borrow it with credit to you!!! That being said....My Clarisonic Mia.....worth it!
ReplyDeleteYes! Especially saving for vacation and Amazon Prime. If I'm on vacation, I want to be comfortable, eat well, and see allthethings. And Amazon Prime is so convenient. I think I would quality footwear to this list.
ReplyDeleteI am ALL about my Sonicare!! I also love splurging on pedicures because they last a month versus my manicures which last maybe a week. I definitely think I might continue my steal-from-Steph post idea and do one of these myself :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome post idea- I love this!! I'm SO with you on a knee-length down coat. I invested in a nice one last year and it was ABSOLUTELY worth every penny! I don't know how I went so long without one!
ReplyDeleteVacations are for sure something I'm willing to spend money on, though, I also try to collect all the points and enjoy some free flights, which in turn means MORE vacations!
ReplyDeleteA great haircut and color is definitely worth spending money on to me. Did that today, in fact :)
LASIK for sure. I got it. I'm glad I did.
ReplyDeleteAnd lady lunches are always fun.
Amen to the polarized sunglasses! Mine are actually a $15 flea market find but when the go, I will not hesitate to spend money on new ones.
ReplyDeletePedicures, good, quality makeup, vacations, and meals are on my list of things that are worth the money.
YES to Yankee Candles! Bath and Body Works candles are pretty good, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm on the hunt for a knee length down coat this year. I have my eye on a North Face one so I'm waiting on a store discount or something like that... I mean, their quality is great but if I can save a few I'm gonna save a few!
Totally agreed on convenience! If there's a toll road that saves me 30 minutes of traffic, I am there! I'm having trouble thinking of other ones. Travel, I guess, and experiences (even the silly ones like parasailing or snorkeling).
ReplyDeleteWith you on the purse (even though I still have my limits...)
ReplyDeleteConvenience - totally!
Coffee
Bedsheets
Oh and printing photos - mpix!!
I have to have my Sonicare. I love convenience. I just got an awesome red cast iron dutch oven, and I plan on buying a knee length winter coat this year. I also don't skimp on food/treats for my dog and cats. They get the best of the best.
ReplyDeleteYes to so many things on this list, especially pedicures, professional hair color, and Amazon Prime.
ReplyDeleteWorth every cent to me is non-generic plastic wrap (the Target brand is shit), purses (if I drop $$$ on a purse, I will use the hell out of it, rather than buying a new cheap one every month when I get tired of the previous one), expensive flats (something about my feet doesn't work with most inexpensive ones), cable TV, a smartphone, iced coffee out. I tried to make my own at home, and while it was good, there is just something about getting it somewhere other than my kitchen that makes it a special treat.
Coach bags. Dunkin. An amazing meal out. Makeup. A great winter coat that actually keeps you warm. Pedicures. Fast Pass at the Sky thing. Bras.
ReplyDeleteA balcony on a cruise is a MUST. I'd feel so claustrophobic without it. I'm totally with you on pedicures, Prime, vacations, and name brand condiments. I'd also add Clarisonic, 4- or 5-free nail polish, fast internet speed, concerts, and bras.
